Can we expect more Azshara nerfs soon?

The Paladin is fine, for one, he knew of the historical precedent of Mythic end boss nerfs and was asking on any news for Azshara. I believe he’s really 7/8M.

And Automated, don’t worry mate, you’ll get it even without a nerf if you keep pulling from now till christmas, but I believe she’s getting a nerf prior to patch.

Yeah we’re a pull or two away from p4 right now. That’s the last part before it starts getting easy.

Each time we get new raids the previous tier gets nerfed by 20 to 30 %. Always worked that way expect a nerf or a optional player buff.

Mickey radar blipped.

No nothing confirmed yet.

I’m going to say you won’t see another nerf, if you do, before next year.

I think that’s hard to say, just because it was already nerfed, but so was Jaina and Jaina had a much higher kill ratio pre-nerf. I feel like Azshara will get another before the end of December.

I think more nerfs (at least on Mythic) would be good because the fight as it stands is so incredibly comp-dependent, and nerfs would at least give a shot to more groups that aren’t playing the meta comp.

How many Mythic kills don’t have a Glimmerdin and/or Disc Priest? How many have both? How many are Disc/Disc/Glimmer or Glimmer/Disc/Disc (answer: way too many).

It isn’t JUST that these are the strongest healers this tier, anyway (by a mile). It’s also that they ignore line-of-sight and Mythic Azshara is entirely about using and abusing line-of-sight.

Ditto for raids not running Brewmasters. Brewmasters that have killed Mythic Azshara outnumber all other tanks combined on the fight. It’s beyond ridiculous at this point. It’s not just the unbeatable mitigation, it’s also tricks like the ability to teleport through solid objects like the pillars, making pillar-humping in phase 3 much easier than on any other tank (which can otherwise be a problem as the pillars are not smooth or round and have spots on them where players can get stuck when simply running around them).
EDIT: Bringing a Brewmaster also means you get the 5% physical damage boost without having to bring a Windwalker (the worst-performing DPS class on the fight) or a Mistweaver. The whole class design (and therefore raid comp) this expansion has been fubar.

Blizzard has shown very little interest in doing any class balancing this expansion. The meta of double-Brewmaster, Disc/Disc/Glimmer/Glimmer, Fury/Outlaw/Havoc/Fire/Shadow… it’s been this way all expansion. They really seem to want everybody to play just those classes/specs.

But the least they could do is adjust the fight down a bit for groups that aren’t playing the meta.

She’s the perfect example of too many mechanics.

In heroic she has a bunch of mechanics - all of them are pretty easy - but just too many.

They need to never make bosses like that again imo. Quality > quantity

A few mechanics that are unique, and somewhat difficult to execute can make a boss just as interesting as one with 3 pages of mechanics on wowhead.

I love ion and appreciated him since vanilla - but come on dude lol

This might be some of the best input I’ve seen here so far, as OP was saying this has nothing to do with difficulty, I think the fight itself is really easy to pick up, but it’s just so insanely comp dependent. Have other guilds without the meta killed it? yes of course, but it’s still an issue when you’re looking at the numbers all together. I believe that this fight needs a nerf, not saying burn it to the ground with changes to make it a free kill, but tweak it one more time, just enough that it leans less on comp.

She’s pretty on par mechanics wise to other end bosses. Garrosh, Archimonde, Blackhand, Gul’dan, Argus… heck, let’s not forget Kil’jaeden’s totally dark phase, with a initially completely random knockback, on an open platform that could launch you out to your death.

Azshara is definately not an outlier on actual mechanics for an end of tier boss. She’s pretty in line with the design for at least the last 4 expansions.

Blame add ons like Weak Auras being so powerful for these type of highly choreographed bosses.
