can we do classic-only sub for reduced rate?

I don't care much for retail but I also don't think I'm gonna shell out $15/mo sub for a game so old and which will probably not receive much if any in terms of content updates, especially when looking at the reactionary nature of vanilla fans to touching its original pristine state. I'm sure many players are willing to pay it, but it's just kind of an issue of principle for me.

there any mention of a classic-only sub which might lower the sub fee down?
Of course not, and it gets shouted down by retail players every time it is brought up.
The irony is not lost on me.

Basically everything that follows this post is either blizzard shill or entitled BFA player

No, I like BFA+Classic better 2 in 1 deal.

Only from the posters here, not a peep from from Blizzard. Not likely gonna happen though. As of now, it's tied to a retail wow subscription.

But anything can happen in 8+ months.
you've been bundled
Classic: $10.00
Retail: $15.00
Both: $20.00

This, I think, would be the smart move, but...

Not a chance. Adding a larger fee to current BfA players (such as myself) would be a fantastic way to reduce engagement in Classic. We want more players, not fewer.
Nope, this is the plan they finally came up with to keep people subbed between content patches.
Nah, they'd never do that. Classic is a significant investment, both time and money wise for Blizzard. They'll need to capitalize on it to make a return on their investment. Think of it as just another expansion.
Why would a billion-dollar company AGREE to hindering their sales stats for their retail game that they are fighting to keep growing.

WoW is right o_o
I'm fine with how they're handling it.
From a business standpoint, keeping both retail and classic in the same subscription is the best option. Players can freely migrate their attention between the two without having to worry about separate billing, and they can push new retail expansions as they come out to try and goad players back.

Having a discounted classic-only subscription would be kinda awesome, but seeing as it would directly negatively affect their retail subscription numbers, I highly doubt they'd do it.

That's not to say I wouldn't subscribe to an extra discounted classic account. Heck yeah I would.

Hahaha, you would be less engaged if you were paying anything beyond $0 above your BFA sub. Shocking.

What? I would read his suggestion again. You're paying $5 to play Classic if you're already playing Current WoW. Whereas someone who just wants to play Classic pays $10. You're saving $5.

Personally, I pretty much just accepted their decision to combine subs. It's the wrong choice, but it is what it is. Sadly, after watching Tips' pvp tournament my fears were confirmed: losers with nothing else to do in BfA will absolutely troll Classic. And it's not going to be a rare thing.

$5 > $0
He thinks he should not have to pay more than $0 above his BFA sub in order to be "engaged" with classic. That would cause him to totally refuse to play the second game... that he would otherwise not be paying for.
15 a month for classic only. Yeah i dunno. I may end up biting the bullet but I'm also now convinced pservers will still be a thing.

Yeah, definitely don't want to lose those players who will only play if they don't have to pay for it.

I try not to judge how people spend their money, but if $5 is your breaking point, obviously you don't have much interest in Classic.

How interested are you in actually playing Classic? Based on this statement it doesn't sound like you would be that invested in it and something tells me that for $10 or $7.50 a month it wouldn't change your outlook on the game.

I'm disappointed in BfA, but the way I look at it is in Summer 2019 I will be able to choose which one I want to play and that will only improve my WoW experience tenfold.

I feel like I could probably go $10/mo. $15 just seems excessive. maybe not excessive for actual the packaged value of BfA and Classic, but the more recent content ain't doing it for me and end of the day I'd be shelling out $15/mo for Classic.

I agree with this. I think there's a significant minority that would be willing to do the $10 or $7.50 for Classic subscription that don't want to do the $15 both because they recognize they'd be paying for a bunch of stuff they don't want and won't play.

In much the same way, I'm not going to spend a bunch (relatively speaking) of money to get a bag of random candy bars if I just want Twix. I'll happily spend a lesser amount to just get the Twix bars, though.
