Can we change / remove Cheat death?

Countless rated arenas, solo shuffles, rbgs and even AWC games where this skillless passive turns the game around.

Absolutely disgusting paired with Priest Void Shift.

Make the talent reduce the Rogue’s base hp by 15% or something. Or just remove it. It’s pathetic people winning after doing a mistake that would kill any other class.

cheat death was hardly ever taken over feint for years in PvP

but the game is more bursty now which is why it has value

removing cheat death is applying a used band-aid to the actual gushing wound that is PvP

theres a few cheat death mechanics in game and another one coming in 10.1.5,
cauterize
mechagnome racial
undulating sporecloak
shaman insta proc when hitting X% hp
druid insta proc when hitting X% hp
augmentation evoker gets one

just to think of a few off the top of my head. but yeah id be fine with removing all of them
or give WW one :smiling_imp:

Except Cauterize, those aren’t Cheat death mechanics.

Those effects / spells are an equivallent to passive self heals. But how often did you care about those? Only Cheat Death and Cauterize actually buy enough time to survive.

It’s kind of disgusting honestly. Try to count how many times you’ve seen some Rogue make a stupid mistake, not die, get Void Shifted / Cocooned / NS-ed or whatever and then win the game.

It’s more cause they nerfed feint wall that make it useless mostly now, I’m still playing cause it require more skill and awareness than cheat death and I think you can still get some OK value with it.

Elusiveness was far worse then cheat death tbh.

Not really, usually cheat death is crap you often die cause it proc often to really low hp.

Only sub seems to be able to abuse about it, as outlaw I always play elusiveness and before the Nerf ore feint a go was almost guaranteed to not die (ofc you comes out low hp but it feel rewarding especially it’s yourself that press the button).

That’s because it isn’t a cheat death issue, it’s a multiple vanish and control with sub issue.

Why are you trying to argue something you agree with?

Between that and all the vanishes/melds/whatever else that makes sub rogues immortal, yes change/remove it all.

cheat death has been one of the worst passive defensives in the game for a long time this isnt really where the complaints should be directed, theres soooo many other things that are problematic that you could mention instead (double vanish + thiefs bargain, physical cloak, shadowdust)

cheat death really just better suits current rogue playstyle/game pace and depending on the type of damage youre doing to the rogue, it does nothing and the rogue dies through it

I hate cheat death. It feels much more rewarding to pre-feint a stun than to just passively not die because of cheat death. Problem is elusiveness took a big nerf going into DF (30% DR → to 20% DR) and with the constant micro CC and crazy burst in pvp right now 20% DR reduction is nothing. You just die anyways. So cheat death is better.

I’d be all for deleting cheat death and buffing elusiveness back to 30% DR. At least for sin and outlaw, since we have to “brawl” more than sub does (and sub is already unkillable anyways).
