Can we all agree to wait and see?

I have been seeing on the forums people saying one way or another some people praising a new patch others saying its just to save face and this is part of a pattern.

However we all agree that if they continue doing what they did with 9.1.5 is a good thing and if they backtrack is a bad thing.

So instead of grabbing our torches and pitchforks or breaking out the kegs and celebrating why don’t we all agree to wait and see what happens next.

That is what I am currently doing and if this next expansion turns out to be great it will be worth the wait. But if it turns out to be Shadowlands 2.0 you can bet I will be among the first to cancel my subscription.

I’m afraid that would be the rational way to do things.

That is now how it works round these parts. :japanese_ogre: :boom: :ok_hand:

Well should they succeed or fail its a win-win for me.

Celebrate by playing a decent game, celebrate by watching a company being gutted.

I know nobody likes a fence sitter. But I can understand both sides here. Folks that are wary have totally valid reasons for feeling that way. Folks that feel hopeful also are valid.

I’d rather wait and see. If they do something I like, I’ll say thanks. Saying thank you doesn’t always mean singing praises.

Both opinions aren’t mutually exclusive, IMHO.

I think the changes are all great, that the game should have shipped like that (same with m+ upgrades from 9.0.5), and that them implementing these changes right now are a knee-jerk reaction to the general unhappiness about the expansion as a whole.

I choose to be cautiously optimistic, because this cycle of shipping broken stuff that only gets fixed a year later is not new.

If they actually don’t ignore overwhelming player feedback during next expansion’s beta cycle, then I’ll believe in change.

While I do not think people losing their jobs should be Celebrated I see your point. If the next x pack does well I will know I made the right choice if it is not I can at least leave without any regrets or doubts.

If they’re working for Blizzard, anyone talented or well connected could easily find work again in the same field.

Sometimes that is the best place to be.

That is exactly how I feel about the game currently. The Walkout, Oneal and Ybarra, and 9.5.1 combined show promise and I know people are going to say “Oh well look at the pattern” or “The people ruining the game are still at the helm” or “This is just temporary” well that may or may not be true but I think there is POTENTIAL to change and I want to wait to see if that potential is used or squandered.

That’s… not how jobs work. Being talented does not guarantee you a job period, never mind one in the same field.

That’s a pretty mentally unhealthy thing to do.

*Slowly turns the dial marked “MAKE GAME GOOD”, nervously looking over shoulder at players in desperation for a positive reaction.

I swear, it feels as if nothing changes until the players F with the investor’s money.

I think the reason was because a lot of the people running the show were more interested in covering up their abuse of female employees than making a good game, that and they did not see FFXIV as legitimate competition until now.

I’m honestly hoping for a better trend, not a one-and-done “See? We DO care!” I am glad they’re making these changes, but I’m really only interested in sticking around if they’re going to show an increased amount of agility with changes in the game. I’m not going to wait for a 10.1.5 patch to fix issues that were apparent in the Alpha/Beta of 10.0 again. I don’t have the time to anymore, I have other games like FFXIV to keep up with now (even if I do it a bit more casually)

I’ve actually been doing that. The Devs need to do a lot better than 9.1.5 being the admission of their mistakes to gain the player’s trust back.

My case, I stick around, not because the game is good, but I made a lot of friends through this game built from a previous foundation as well as people loving my Demonology Warlock.

Well we do not know that it will be just a One in Done thing YET. I have however been seeing devs responding to some posts on the forums which does show promise but again we will have to wait and see.

I agree but you must admit at least its a step in the right direction.

It is, but at the same time I resonate people that wants all the changes from the beginning.

I have a lot of alts that I don’t play as often because of the amount of things I need to do, not just to catch up my main, but try to stay relevant.

It’s absurd and the fact that they’re announcing it now peeves me a bit. It’s a good direction, don’t get me wrong. I’m just baffled why it took them this long to realize the error of their ways.

I agree but there could be a lot of reason for that I posted two on this thread.

However as they saying goes, “better late than never” and I do agree that this alone is not enough but if they keep doing this and going down this path I will definitely start seeing the game in a new light.

This is where I am at along with don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. :stuck_out_tongue: Should these changes have occurred sooner? Absolutely. Am I happy they are happening at all? Absolutely. Do I ultimately care why they are happening (lawsuit, people unsubbed, whatever)? Not one bit.

This isn’t some political bill being passed or something. It’s a game company and game decisions. I think people really should just air their frustration or opinion if need be [it’s their right] but this trying to get people on one side or another is just unnecessary.

  • If you like the changes and want to thank them or say you appreciate it, fine.
  • If you have no trust in blizz and want to crap on them, fine.

Do we really need to have a mob rule here lol

I think the topic is getting way too much attention on w hat seemingly is just a PR step in showcasing things to come.

Read this with a joking smile when I say: “You must be new to WoW expansion cycles since WoD…” There are simply a lot of us here who have seen this pattern three times in a row now and are irritated about it. Especially because every time it happens someone comes along going “your negative feelings are just you being mean! look! things will be different now!”

I will be super happy to change my thoughts on what this could mean when I actually see the pattern change. Right now, we’re still in the middle of a repeat of the same pattern we’ve seen multiple times before.
