Feral’s ease-of-use for area damage is too high for the area damage it puts out. Three? four? five? Moonfire, Brutal, Primal, Thrash?, adaptive? of the aoes are just passive spam aoes.
Like… there’s no “special” set up for it. It just happens to hit/DoT everything while you’re hitting/dotting your main target. And they’re strong af.
Moonfire isn’t AoE. Neither is Adaptive Swarm unless they’re taking the second talent for it, which is viable but not common. Thrash does very little damage.
The primary culprit is Primal Wrath. The AoE damage on it could probably use toning down in PvP, which is happening to some extent in the next major patch. This would push ferals toward more ‘active’ damage with Ferocious Bite, punishing them more for being forced into bear.
Hope you’re ready for more burst in the game at the expense of consistent damage.
I wouldn’t want any more HP increases due to percentage based defensives/heals scaling too hard. It would be nice to add maybe 8-10% damage reduction to the current PvP trinket bonus then do a consistent damage buff+slight cd nerf across the board. Way too much effort for the devs to ever do though.
