Warlocks already have a precedent for it, given their Cataclysm, Hand of Gul’dan, and (obviously) Shadowburn. I think it would be cool to have more spell visuals with the shadowflame effect. Would be a really cool aesthetic for Destruction.
P.S. I want this as a shadow priest, too.

Shadow Priests kind of have a more “Shadowfrost” thing going for them though don’t they?
I think Warlocks, Mages, and Shaman should all get the option to have Shadowflame for their Fire spells. Would look dope to be tossing out Shadowflame Pyroblasts and Lava Bursts. Drop a Shadowflame Flamestrike or summon a Shadowflame Elemental.

Warlocks are the only class that use both shadow/void and fire.
Everyone else uses one or the other.
It makes sense warlocks would be the ones to fuse the two.
Plus we already use shadowflame. Demon bolt is a literal ball of shadowflame. It’s not new to us

You know what? I’d be fine with this, it’d be more work then just recoloring Warlock spells for Shadowflame but I’d love to see Shadowflame stuff on Mage fire spells and Shaman fire spell.

Honestly, I want it all.

But don’t expect it. I’m fairly sure Blizzard regrets green fire… It may be nice flavor for us, but it adds more work on the devs’ end.

I’d say keep green for the Fel magic and add the entire shadowflame specialization to warlocks, for example as a Tank spec, or maybe alternative to the Aug as another support spec.

We’ve got one spell with it, and it’s been a bastard child since it’s first iteration, would definitely rather anything else lol
Hate to be a buzzkill but I’m pretty sure Blizzard will never add specs to classes again after the Evoker Augmentation fiasco.
i don’t think so, i think that they’ll be more careful to leave it to expac launches now instead though. aug just kinda dropped out of nowhere without much warning, while being a completely new archtype to fill and balance
