Can the GMs do something about the pro trump guilds?

Seriously I’m sick and tired of the racism in trade chat. Anytime I visit stormwind it’s Elon/trump cultist worship and spreading hate

If someone is being nasty or hateful in chat - report them.

I doubt people saying things you don’t like count as racism and spreading hate.
You can always ignore/report them.

Ah so that’s where they went.

Somehow not surprised Cata of all places

When i logged on last night i got a pop up asking if i wanted to disable chat. Sounds like you should use this option but the politi al talk has been in game since trump won in 2016 pretty easy to ignore.

I leave all channels in all versions of wow. The only thing I get is local (for the zone) and guild…otherwise I never see anything, and I am not missing anything either.
If I need something crafted or a service, etc I join temporarily and then leave when done.

I’ve been doing this for a long while now (not just recently).

Spreading hate? How are they spreading hate? Last I checked, being pro-Trump or pro-Elon was not hate speech. Everyone has the freedom of speech, which is protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. Just because they are pro-Trump or pro-Elon does not mean they are spreading hate.

The game devs have incorporated political elements into the game, not just the players.

No.

Using political crud to stir up toxicity in chat for the posters amusement tends to end poorly if reported, but some people cannot help themselves for whatever reason.

So, OP, when you see the political crud in trade chat, report it. Keep doing that. And eventually the players that care about their accounts, will slow it down and/or stop. The rest tend to stop posting because of involuntary game vacations…which double after the first 7 day silence.

Try and have fun. Do report the inappropriate crud, esp racism.

It’s not just Pro Trump or Elon. There’s both sides spreading hate. And tbh I’m just tired of it. Talking politics never ends well, and to make matters worse, there are trolls who don’t care about it, they just do it to incite people.

I think this world would be so much better if we never had politics to begin with :\

LUL!!

“I don’t like who they voted for, so they must be silenced and removed!”

Not sure if serious with this post and as has been said above, BOTH SIDES engage in uncivil discourse. Use you r mute button, there for a reason.

l love the tolerant left lol.

see I served my country. Fun fact…I didn’t like 1 of 2 presidents I served under. And the other one wasn’t liked much either. More a hated less really. edit, 1 was red 1 was blue…fair and balanced lol.

But…the people put them there. How that works lol.

impeach blumpf!!!

Wasn’t there already a post like this last week that was removed? When someone tried to argue about Australians being racist against each other or something.

Sometimes we need threads like this to remind us just how embarrassingly easy it is to troll people on these forums.

Why? Are you upset that in his first 24 hours in office he accomplished more than Biden did in four years?

Ignore list is limited and its actively disruptive to people trying to group for content.
They need to enforce a /join political or just ban these people from participating in trade, general, and lfg.

It’s important to consider that enforcing restrictions on certain discussions could be seen as hypocritical, especially given that Blizzard has incorporated liberal ideologies into the game. Penalizing players with opposing views could have underlying repercussions and create a sense of bias within the community.

Additionally, as long as the content being discussed does not violate Blizzard’s ToS, restricting players’ ability to participate in trade, general, and LFG channels would infringe on their First Amendment rights to freedom of speech. Blizzard’s role is to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all players, addressing any behavior that breaches the ToS, but not censoring opposing viewpoints that are respectfully expressed.

Creating an inclusive environment means respecting diverse perspectives and allowing players to express their views within the boundaries of the ToS. Players who find certain discussions disruptive can use available tools like ignore to manage their chat experience without infringing on others’ rights.
