I, like many others, like to do m+, raid, and pvp. I have no interest in collecting anima, doing boreghast, running in circles to kill rares, find mawshrooms, do assults, do torments, and open chests.
The fact that you need a weakaura to know what needs to be done in chore-thia is absurd!
Can we just play the game to get the player power? The extra fluff should be optional.
Or why can’t we get soul cinders from m+, raid and pvp? archivist’s codex rep and resources from the new mega dungeon? Korthia crystals from the raid? And something so pvper’s don’t have to do pve content like world pvp to get those items, win or lose. Anything would be an improvement.

Anima should be the result of just playing the game. I shouldnt literally be sitting here every stinking day trying to figure out how to find another 47 anima to pay for X.
It BECOMES the game…the POINT of it…instead of playing the game to enjoy the content, the content sucks and Im only playing to get anima, etc.

That was ‘fun’ for about 40 days or so. Then it just turned into a repetitive snoozefest.
Good thing is SLs convinced the wife and I both to never purchase another expansion again.
We’ll play whatever comes with the subscription price from now on.

The last job I had where I worked for someone else instead of myself did the same kinda of thing.
He had owned his business for decades and was doing just fine.
Literally had just hired two more salesmen, so he was growing gradually and doing well.
This moron decides to buy a new machine that had like a million dollar price tag. The monthly payment was $30,000 or something to that effect. And he didnt just buy that machine, but another smaller one that was still very expensive.
I asked him what his plan was. We both knew he couldnt afford the payments…not even close.
He told me that they had contacted him and when they ran the numbers that it was some miracle but he was approved for the loan, so he took that as a sign that he was doing the right thing.
Anyone else remember the 07-08 crash and what a big part of it was with housing loans getting approved that people couldnt really afford? lol.
This guy lost everything. Literally everything. His business, his home. He ended up on public assistance with his wife and 6 kids.
All because he made bad business decisions. OBVIOUSLY bad business decisions.
Kinda like when you own a video game and you tell your player base that youre removing a player favored mechanic that everyone uses every time they log in…flight, lol
Shadowlands has had quite a few changes that are purely due to player feedback. Things like more customization options, currency systems like anima rewarding almost purely cosmetic rewards, optional reps that you can grind to your hearts content, and no real grind for extra player power in a significant way like azerite or artifact power.
9.1 made it worse IMO. Because I would just head start to the floor boss and take him out. Now I have to clear everything to do well score wise and my reward for doing well is more bore-ghast! oof.
WRT anima it is a lot better but I still have to collect it every week for the renown and I’d rather just have no renown than to have to do anima collecting.
You would get them so slowly from the table and honestly, nothing about the table is enjoyable at all. Everyone just uses an addon for it, I don’t play wow to play a mini-game inside of wow that the table is and even if the mission table was a fully flesh out game that’s not the type of game I would like to play. It’s fine to have but just make it optional.

Being a casual player myself the biggest problems I have with the game is old content being nerfed for some reason or the other, content I enjoy or aspects of the game being change to the point is unappealing to play, then told games evolve so evolve to or don’t play, well eventually you’ll take out/nerf everything I enjoy about the game to the point I will leave and go play something else. Seems Like allot people are at this crossroad and playing other games.
Not everyone is a PVPer or Raider or elitist, so keep telling people or degrading people with welfare comments and such eventually your elitist/toxic mentality/approach to the game will run people off, seems like that’s happening now. (imho) Just my thoughts on the matter.
So you just want to raid log pretty much? I like doing all those things you listed too, but I don’t mind more laid back content like rares and assaults and whatnot. A weakaura for a checklist? Would never occur to me to play the game that way. Maybe that’s why y’all don’t have any fun.

But you’re right they have made improvements but I’m still standing here wondering what they are thinking of when they remove something from the game that players do not like just to add more of it back in.

I honestly dont think any decision they make anymore is EVER actually for player benefit.
Every time I initially think it is, I start looking at the details and it actually ends up making sense that its for them, not us.

Id like to see the revenue increase for name changes after the gender changes to the Barber was made.
In previous expansions when my gametime isn’t chewed up by chores I would level alts, do random bgs, push arena more, farm for mogs, do wpvp, etc. You know things I enjoy in the game.
I have less fun running around in circles with no direction at all. I don’t find it laid back I find it boring.
The game gives you plenty of direction, it just doesn’t overload you with a list that shows you how to optimize your every second inside of Korthia. Considering how miserable some of you are while playing this content, maybe that’s for the best.
Personally I go in, I do some quests, kill some rares on the way, and that’s it. I’m good for the day. I’ve always played the game this way. A weakaura… lol No thanks.
When not raiding, this is what I spend most of my time doing for fun.
Probably just me, but the timeless isle type content seems to keep me occupied, and I actually like the new score system in Torghast since it pushed me out of my normal, boring routine in there.
If anything, my biggest annoyance right now is that my account is apparently flagged to not get raid drops, or I’m just beating worst case drop statistics somehow. Either way, a couple weeks of raids with a single Dom shard to show for it isn’t working to keep me on the treadmill, lol.
