Just feels like compared to the Horde that Alliance is seen as The Golden Child that can do no wrong. Which in my personal opinion needs to change. There should be no reason that the Horde is the only one who gets thrusted into situations where they look like the “bad guy”. It’s the Alliance’s turn to have some morally questionable events happen.
Its our leaders, mostly Andiun, they are stuck in “lawful good” mode, The alliance itself has actually commited war crimes but we never really see reference to these things happening. One of few times was Mists at the docks and the night elf wouldnt shut up about it being wrong. Its part of why the alliance seems so boring and generic.
No, We won’t get any major Moral ambiguity, because the alliance are side characters to the horde.
The horde are both the good guys, and the bad guys. We’re just the happy go lucky side characters to the story blizzard wants to write.
Even if Tyrande does something cool, she will no longer be a part of “the alliance” She will be immediately evicted, and treated as a separate entity.
Blizzard will do all they can to maintain the Status quo of the Horde being the main characters and the Alliance being boring.
It’s amazing to me they don’t just end the damn factions at this point.
No. The alliance will always be the “good” guys. Any negative thing they’ve ever done is always “Well It’s not our fault!”
I disagree. The humans are guilty of xenophobic genocide.
could have anduin stay in stormwind more often, and have his generals do questionable things…
The Alliance sees itself as the golden child that can do no wrong. Jaina is particularly guilty of this. She kills and kills but always seems to weasel her way into thinking she never did anything wrong. I hope Sylvanas already got into Derek’s head. Nothing would please me more than to see Ice Queen get a knife in the heart.
Its been done; Garithos, remember?
We don’t need the Hotde getting any more of OUR races!
Skäl
You don’t need edge or evil characters to tell an interesting story.
Just something these writers are incapable of.
not what i meant, but regardless they abandoned us multiple times again and again, they would of left to join some cult if it wasn’t to join the horde…
OH WAIT THEY DID!
but uhh, ya i meant like towards the horde not each other…
Didn’t we literally just get finished with an expansion where the “chosen one” was some elf dude who became a demon, enslaved an entire world, and did a whole bunch of other evil stuff for “the greater good?”
Well said!
Plot twist: Anduin has become a corrupted dictator, any alliance found guilty of “crimes” gets sent to the stockade and silenced, Armies of goosestepping Pallidins roam the streets of stormwind “for your protection”…
If Yrel is any indication that could very well be the case.
what does edge or evil have anything to do with anything? Conflict is the seed to all storytelling.
The best we’re ever going to get is Sky Admiral Rogers OP. Genn has been muzzled.
The post is called “Can The Alliance get some moral ambiguity” and the content was The Alliance is too nice.
wasnt Rodgers the one that ordered the killing of the Orcs making their way to the docks in Mists?
Lawful good doesn’t mean always moral though. A lawful good person would think slavery or genocide were good if it were the law of the land.
so not being the justice league of friends = evil and edgy? Pretty binary outlook
