Can something be done about the anubistah idol?

I am so sick and tired of trying to do the pet battle weekly event and dealing with this stupidly broken pet honestly. It needs a nerf badly honestly, given even when I use an ability to change the weather, the deflection makes it stupid tanky and hard to deal with.

Half the time too I just forfeit whenever I’m matched against one, its simply not fun to play against and needs to go meta wise.

Pretty sure beast pets with undead attacks counter this. I mean that thing has been around for a good 10 years now? Hasn’t been nerfed yet. Doubt it ever will be. Battle pets are a dead system. Shocked it wasn’t just left out this expansion or the last one like archeology was.

Yeah I figured out a counter to it in my own way, I just used abyssius to change the weather then swap him in and out as needed to keep the stupid sandstorm under control. I do not understand why they don’t just make pets cosmetic at this point either, I just do not have the time nor will to sit down and gather all the broken pets I would need to counter half of these teams. Right now people are using the dream whelping for some odd reason, and then some other pet I can’t remember the name of but was able to smack my backline hard.

I was using Abyssius, dark phoenix hatchline and sunborne Val’kyr to deal with them and sorta worked, it worked enough to get me 5 five wins. Yet I simply avoid pet battles in general, unless I absolutely have to or want the level 25 pet battle stone.

While it’s undoubtedly a very strong pet, you’re complaining about throwing Scissors against Rock when you could just switch to Paper.

I mean I did throw paper, I would cast scorched earth every time I knew they were about to sandstorm which became very predictable. Which negated their effect and then I would simply swap to another pet until I need to cast scorched earth again.

I don’t have a lot of pets, let alone undead pets that have the caliber needed to deal with it properly, along with many level 25 pets, I am working on getting an undead for it though so I can blast it as needed whenever I need to do pet battles again. Yet its hard to play rock paper scissors at times when you try to cover all three, yet can easily get countered with a rock only team that decimates yours.

So you’re upset the people who put more work into pet battles are beating you?

Literally no one cares about pet battle week, it’s basically a push week for m+

I totally get it. It definitely isn’t and won’t be easy. And I don’t think the pet battle matchmaking is done well at all. And too many people just use “insert 3 strongest pets” with Anubisath part of that 3, and it’s nigh unwinnable. Especially for inexperienced pet battlers or those without a varied and leveled collection. So I feel your frustration. Just don’t give up!

It’s definately one of the most overpowered Pet Battle pets.

I have one in my party, and I’ve always got some undead pet with a weather effect to get rid of Sandstorm.

Honestly, Sandstorm is really overpowered when paired with a Humanoid pet.

You reduce damage taken by a good amount, so DoTs won’t hurt you, and humanoids heal at the end of every round when they deal damage. Basically, Anubisath has way more survivability than other humanoid pets, in addition to having a ‘block’ move.

They’re annoying to deal with, for sure.

I’ve actually made teams designed around countering the most popular pets, and Anubisath is one of them.

Imo, the top pets are:

-Anubisath Idol, with Sandstorm.

-Iron Starette, with Supercharge, Wind-up, and Powerball.

-Bone Serpent, with Bone Barrage and Call Darkness.

-Any pet with Call Darkness, and an ability that does extra damage when enemy is blinded. Several rats, owls, and the like have these abilities.

-Those annoying teams that use Sunlight, Ironbark, and will heal themselves, chipping you away slowly.

I do. Pet battle is easily the best thing they’ve added since dragon riding.

M+ is dumb, it’s boring, and it’s basically baiting you to do boring stuff with some promise of a reward at the end. Just like Renown. The content isn’t inherently fun without a reward.

Discount WoW Pokemon is more fun. I just do these battles because, no carrot needed.

Not really, I can beat them with a little effort on my end given I made a team that worked against the idols, but of course I cannot account for all teams, and when I make one to counter a specific team style and get blind sided by another type of team that counters me. Then it becomes frustrating as it becomes very obvious quickly that no matter how you spin it, you will lose.

PvP IMO is pretty much the same way of its all a game of rock paper scissors, and if you don’t throw the correct thing against them you just are toast with zero chances of recovering 9/10 times. It just isn’t much fun and something that I am willing to invest a ton of time into when there are more pleasant aspects of the game that I enjoy and would rather spend my time on.

This is the nature of PvP pet battles. It’s not the fault of one pet.

Certainly not, yet idol is arguably the most broken pet in the game due to how it works, and if you aren’t aware of how it works it can easily be the reason why you will lose.

No it really isn’t.

Okay, keep sitting with your fingers in your ears then I guess.

I’ve got friends that live for pet battling, who have over a thousand pets leveled. So I do know what I’m talking about.

You just need to study some pet battle guides and learn what you need.

I’ll just throw it out there that I won my first pet battle of the week with a team of 3 Turkeys. While I wasn’t up against an Anubisath or anything, it was a pretty good team combo with a phoenix hatchling, Lil’ KT, and shyfly. It was a close match, could have easily gone the other way. But all this to say…even a team of 3 Turkeys is capable of winning PvP pet battles.

Don’t be silly. Idol is clearly and obviously one of the strongest single pets in the game. This is fine, it can be fought and countered like any pet. But don’t be silly.

OP claimed it was “THE most broken pet in the game.” You said “it’s ONE OF the strongest.” It’s a very strong pet. So are others. Just as you said. But it is NOT “the most broken pet in the game.”

Next time, don’t make insulting comments because you have a reading comprehension issue.

Goodbye.

So go get yourself a Anubisath Idol then…add it too your team…you don’t have one…

remember when they nerfed the mechanical cat’s ability to wind up and overcharge and then later gave it to another pet

nothing about pet battles are balanced, run something that will annoy tf out of the other people in return
