Can someone sell me on Destruction?

It looks like Afflication is never coming back for PVP and while Demo is fun in the open world, I don’t like the 40 pets thing in either arena or dungeons. I need to learn Destro but it just feels so boring.

Can someone give me the Don Draper sales pitch here? One of you must love destruction and also have charisma.

If you want to play with fire and not look like those lint licker fire Mages, play Destro.

I find it weird that as a Destro lock, my DPS his higher than my Fire Mage who is 20 item levels higher gearwise.

Also the recent Fire Mage nerfs have only made things worse for my Fire Mage :frowning:

I have an like a 60 warlack is destro the spec to go now ?

this week is great for destro cause they got singe magic cause they dont have to be bound to a single pet like demo.
destro has movement capabilities with conflag being instant cast. demo suffers from movement.
destro has all the aoe that demo does plus extra.
im demo and im salty at how we suffer

Think of playing a fire mage, but you have a pet tanking damage so you can do long casts and not rely on kiting.

Flinging green Chaos Bolts at the enemy is fun.

Hey there buckerino. I see you’re lookin’ into the dark arts and forbidden techniques for a purpose.
I’m here to tell you that you don’t need all that. Demonic servants? You mean stepping stones, no doubt, pitiful creatures made to serve you, and your ends.
You look like a smart guy, there’s no reason to let wishy-washy things like morals or ethics come between you and your prize. All you need is… Power.
You need power, unrestrained, simple as. Destruction offers this in spades, while looking fly as hell while you incinerate those fools who thought to oppose you. Your love rival? Nothing in the face of your dark powers, now you get the girl (or guy?)
Your most bitter does? They’re on a shirt after applying godlike chaotic energies directly to the forehead.
Cowards and the craven alike tremble in your wake, knowing none can stand before you, and even less can contest you in any meaningful way.
Not even the Legion in their heyday could stop you and your dark ascended brethren from dominating their soldiers, binding them to your will, a simple effort for the simple tools they are.
You’re desired for the small stones you effortlessly design for the lesser mortals, too fearful and incompetent to make bargains and contracts with ‘the greater dark powers’ (still not greater than you) and your ability to summon those same pitiful mortals to you. Sure, you might need some of them to help you out at first, but not because you’re weak. You can’t do all the heavy lifting, right?
Destroy your enemies by raining literal fire upon them, striking them down with primordial and ancient powers they could only dream of controlling, even for a moment. Let none bind you as you rip yourself through the Nether, a quick jaunt through the chaotic energies of this world, yet another effortless accomplishment you regularly pull off. Spread havoc and discord as you see fit, the world is your personal oyster and no one is capable of telling you otherwise, as you easily burn them into dust in ashes.

Pick Destruction Warlock today.

I only use Imp.

Here’s the thing: you either enjoy it or you don’t. Nothing someone says is going to change that if you continue to dislike the playstyle. It would be like me trying to get people to persuade me to like Survival.

Just…do what you like, I say.

True. I’m 100% sure there’s nothing anyone can say to make me like playing Hunters and Demon Hunters.

Mage + green fire and demon.

Less squishy Mage though. And without the ports.

get the talent that drops an infernal whenever you spend 10 soul shards
another talent allows you to hit multiple targets with incinerate do you get what im talking about here? MASSIVE AOE
if it lines up well you can have four rain of fires up at the same time or 7 chaos bolts in succession and that’s what makes it more fun than affliction

Sorry can’t help you. I love destro (it was the first class I ever played) but I’m no salesman. I love it’s simplicity. Makes open world stuff so much easier.

+1 for the Mad Men reference.

There is little that feels are good as some FAT chaos bolts and alternatively dropping rain of fire on a bunch of folk in PvP.

When you get AoE Havoc oh my god, seeing 8 chaos bolt go out is a level of dopamine that felt as good as Convoking in Season 1 of SL.
