And, see, that’s going to tbe the thing - some people get it, some don’t.
It boils down to luck of the draw for people who do not raid regularly, for whatever reason that might be. I am personally not affected by their choice to gatekeep the cat. But I am rather upset at Blizzard because of their decision to do so, because it affects other players. It’s a game. People should be able to have fun with things, aye, especially at the end of an expansion (and especially one as poorly received as Slands has been).
Blizz needed some wins. They failed hard on this one, when they could have had it in the bag. Poor, poor choice for the long term.
I’d wager if you have 260+ gear and apply to every new group that appears for… 20 minutes you will get one invite.
I don’t raid regularly, or do mythics. But I want the KSM so I’m doing Mythics and I want the Slime cat, so I’m getting those normals done too.
Neither is particularly difficult, even for a noob like me and I sort of like a few unique mounts actually requiring a little effort (agree to disagree here), but there’s hundred of mounts that are basically free and it’s just a cosmetic at the end of the day.
Now that Mage tower one… I still got to work on that one for the Tome. Got a few done, but not looking forward to the healer one.
Unless they’ve fixed it, be sure to do this on a healer that can taunt, otherwise you may run into a very fun bug that wipes you at the last boss after spending 15+ minutes doing the rest of it.
While I don’t care about it personally I can see an argument for the fact that it will be easier to find groups week one than it will be the last week of the patch.
We waited 20 min after each wipe (and sometimes just because healers left) for healers and almost no one signed up.
Thank you for again proving my point. Luck of the draw. Time of day, weekday or weekend, raid comp, guild groups or complete pugs - ALL luck of the draw. So it won’t just be an auto easy-in for everyone who is trying to get the slime cat.
Again, I do appreciate it. Maybe it will help one more person see that this is not as balanced as some seem to think.
I feel like a lot of people that rush to these type of rewards seem to think that their value/prestige has a short shelf life, they want to get it when it means something to them personally, flaunt it around for a while and then draw a line immediately behind them and claim that anyone who gets it from there onwards isn’t really worthy and on their level lol
so you want a whole bunch of people who by your own definition who arent geared and dont know mechanics to create groups? For what, to have a bunch of faceless internet drones swear at them like angry teenagers on the first wipe then leave?
This whole “just make your own group” is barely even realistic for people when it comes to m+, let alone raids they have never done above lfr ever, and that was a year or more ago.
OP, i bet by the next cycle the min ilvl to get in will likely jump far beyond an lfr players possible level, so those trying will be spamming groups like crazy trying desperately to get in knowing if they fail, its over, unless they cash in like the money grubbers are hoping they will.
I’ll happily save my money for stuff thats actually meaningfull, and not to pad the pocket of an internet try hard who wants to try and accuse me of “sucking at life” because im not in a prog raid guild in wow
Ever heard of gladiator mounts? Plenty of fomo out there.
So they made a mistake and advetised it on all difficulties when they wanted you to put in a modicum of effort and do it on normal and if you can’t, you miss out on a mediocre cosmetic mount.
They still have the same type of fomo content. Only difference is they mistakeningly advertised it as all difficulties. They have since clarified it’s to be on normal or more difficult.
I know that the easiest time to find groups is in the early time, otherwise groups will be even less tolerant toward people like me who doesn’t raid and have to learn pratically from scratch.
Also, the number of groups available on normal will sink quickly.
Fated are on rotation so if i miss my chance NOW i have to wait 3 weeks.
I have other things to do: The time i am on the raid (or trying to find one), i am not doing MM+ for the hyena soul, another possible FOMO as it’s only available for MM+.
For Sanctum of Domination, my group disbanded at Kel’thuzad (what a hard boss) and now i’m trying to find a group.
Obviously i have to be very lucky…
It doesn’t really matter though. They made a mistake and they clarified it’s meant for normal or higher. Get over it. It’s a game. Over a cosmetic no less…
