Can someone kindly explain some iLVL oddities I have found?

So here is an item:

Specifically for level 80 this item shows a 111 iLVL.

Than there is https://www.wowhead.com/item=47512/sinners-confession&bonus=4136, also 111.

We have this, https://www.wowhead.com/item=50983/gloves-of-false-gestures - iLVL 100.

There is a cloth vendor is Dalaran, I went to visit on my DK and found nothing, obviously, so I went on my Priest and found a lot of iLVL 100 items. So, I took my level 90 Warlock and guess what I found? Yup, iLVL 100 cloth items.

So why is it that this guy is sitting at level 80 with a whopping iLVL of 234? All his items are more than double the iLVL that I have found them to be:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/whisperwind/sendit

There is this guy at level 85 sitting at 286 iLVL:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/daggerspine/sendit

And this guy sitting at level 87 at 109 iLVL:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/zuluhed/sendit

Yes I grabbed 3 randoms with the same name close in level, it’s just easier, but the second and third one, both with Heirloom gear are a long way away from each other in iLVL.

No this is not a name and shame, I mean it may be if the players are found to be doing something they shouldn’t, but a character below level 90 having a higher iLVL than a fresh 120?

I noted this because someone previously posted about how a level 70 character gave this 108 a whooping.

And after looking into I can see why he got whopped, but I think there is something not quite right here that a low level can have that kind of iLVL.

I noticed this too when looking up the people he was fighting.

Not just the ones he was fighting, but there are a few lower levels with an iLVL that would be useful for normal BfA dungeons.

copying my other comment here so people aren’t confused.

Essentially what you’re looking at are unupdated armory profiles. Armory profiles will display pre-squished ilvls if the character hasn’t logged in since the stat squish.

Okay here are two 99 twinks.

You can see the insane difference in ilvl that the items show. Those are not current stats, and the moment they log in it will update.

The mage you’re linking is on a different server from the original thread, and likely hasn’t logged in since WOTLK, as their ilvl is the exact same ilvl as items used to be during WOTLK.

see those ilvls?

If that was possible in game there would be a massive uproar.
