Can someone explain Zen Meditation skill

Hi I just got this skill for my tank it mitigates 60% dmg for 8 seconds but is canceled after getting hit…Huh? How does that make sense. I must be missing something

You can use it to mitigate magic damage or a dot when not being directly hit. It’s broken if you use another ability or get hit with a melee attack.

ahh ok…But as a tank you are almost always getting hit by melee…But ok

Off-tanking in raid, or certain boss mechanics in a dungeon.

Yeah but you can use it if you know a big hit coming to mitigate 60% of it. also can be a cheese. Though spires isnt in the rotation. You could use it to basically soak all the orbs 3rd boss and take virtually no damage

interesting…

Back in Mists of Pandaria all monk specs had it and it reduced damage by like 90%, so it was often used like an immunity for big hit abilities that required stacking. With it only 60% and lock to brewmaster it’s a bit different, but you can use it in a similar manner as a tank still in the right situations.

Actually it redirected magic attacks to the monk from the raid and reduced the damage by 90%. So it was our raid utility, but then they gutted it completely and now it’s a way to cheese a single hit mostly, or reduce some AOE damage like deSausage shield pulse damage while standing in a spirit link (keeping your health high technically helps everyone else in it probably more than your dps would help break the shield).
