Can someone explain why Priests are murder hobos?

I’m having trouble wrapping my head around why Priests do what they do.

My understanding of priests are that they are scholarly individuals who immure themselves in churches, studying scripture.

So why am I a battle-hardened murder hobo? Seems the antithesis of what a priest should be.

Good word. Never seen it before.

Our priests are the kind the wander the earth, lend aid, spread their faith. You can’t do that from a library.

There are priests (and mages / druids / monks / etc for that matter) that cloister themselves and stick with scholarly pursuits. But we’re adventurers. If you don’t want to be an adventurer, stay in the starting zone.

You are conflating what we consider priest with what a fantasy settings might be. Hell even D&D has had the concept of priest who worship gods of war charging into battle along side melee combatants.

False premise. WoW PCs aren’t murder hobos, nearly everything we’re capable of dealing damage to is an active threat to others.

If you think priests are universally good, you need to get out more.

Also, many, if not the majority, are healers.

Oh that so does not matter.

In PVP I’m there to see the blood of enemy healers painted across the skybox.
