Can someone explain unstable affliction, please?

I think I have the affliction rotation down pretty good.

But one thing that puzzles me is how many unstable afflictions to apply.

I usually just apply one UE, like I do corruption or affliction. Should I be applying more? How do you know when you have applied enough UE’s?

You can only apply UA to one target so just put it on whatever you want to die first.

I haven’t played affl in a while. Someone posted this link yesterday that has all kinds of lock info on it. I hope it helps  https ://lockonestopshop.com/#!/Home

you are capped at 1 UA total (this is a shadowlands change as UA is no longer our spender but a maintenance dot). as stated above put it on your priority target.

I seem to remember being able to apply more than one UE. Am I misremembering? Was that the case at one time?

If you can only apply one, that simplifies things a lot.

Thanks!

It was the resource spender for Affliction prior to pre-patch and you could UA as much as you had shards but it was changed back into a bread-and-butter spell with Shadowlands.

Malefic Rapture is the new shard spender in it’s place.

I do really love the way UA is a priority dot now – you can rely on just that to wipe out out the odd trash pop-up for no cost, because it packs a lot of punch.

Not really whats packing a punch is MR not actually UA.

…I mean you’re just being needlessly argumentative. Because relative to our other dots, it does pack a punch.

Correcting mistakes is “needlessly argumentative” cool

You’re not from Nevada are you? Because a slow counter I could understand. A slow reader though, well.

You’re not very good at checking are you? You can clearly see I’m from an Oceanic server. But I get it if the school system didn’t work out very well for you.

I understood that Morganne was referring to UA in relation to other DoTs in her post. It does seem like you’re just using this thread as an opportunity to argue about Malefic Rapture.

Not really there’s nothing to argue about. It seems you are trying to get more out of what i said then it is which is me once again correcting you.

Apologies then, Malyx.

Like Morganne said, UA is the highest damage DoT for Aff locks. Don’t forget that it gives a shard when the target dies too so make sure you always have it up on something. Keep that in mind to avoid shard capping, especially with Drain Soul.
