I’m having extreme difficulty trying to understand why almost every major guide this patch is recommending poison when my bleed/cleave build is outperforming it on almost every metric in comparison on DPS charts on dummies and heroics.
Am I missing something here?
Does it even matter for PVE? As long as the NPC goes down in the end what difference does it make?

Well I’m specifically looking at PVE guides, not PVP.
It’s factoring tier set and the raid items at max ilvl. Your build probably does better now, but when getting everything, it may fall behind due to agi and secondary scaling preferring the poison builds.
This raid tier has a pretty solid ring that procs extra times on nature damage exclusively. Basically designed for rogues.
Or you found something that works better for you and sometimes that’s how it is. IV and WoWHead are general guides, but should not be taken as gospel. I’ve come to find that I have to modify their gear “recommendations” frequently and wind up with better damage than they do with my finds.
Do what works for you.
