I think you’re confusing making the cinematic and using ripped audio versus making an entirely new cinematic with new audio. The angles and shots are different and more refined. Lip syncing is better and such. I’m not even playing retail WoW cause of junk they put out in 9.1.
World of Warcraft isn’t being killed by FFXIV, it’s doing it itself. For too long, you’re gonna get Fallout 3 style cinematics where it’s just pictures and voice over. Blizzard shills will still scream “that was AMAZING!11!!1”
Because they put a hardcore raid or death person in charge.
Some (not all…) Raiders don’t care about this. They don’t care about story. About model and texture work. About cinematic work. esc skip…don’t need to see that. rush rush rush…
they watch stack counts and bouncing bars all night.
Make the raids good you can half bake the rest of the game. This is what some raiders think. Including the lead dev.
And all of that is created off of the original. They used the original as a base, changed angles, reshaped some things, etc. But it’s still the base cutscene revamped.
Does no one here understand how these things are created?
Nope. I don’t ever remember blizzard or WOW being kings of cinematics or cutscenes. Kings in gameplay? Absolutely. But for cutscenes and cinematics in MMOs I’d give that award to SWTOR, which has been around since 2011. It’s the only thing that game really has going for it, but there it is.
Because you’re not supposed to think Garrosh is cool, Sylvanas is so much cooler you guys just don’t know, they even prepped a giant cinematic for her that’s so special that it’s delisted on the YT channel.
To do that, they had to render out that cinematic. They had to change it by hand. They reimagined the cutscene to be what it should’ve been. Overall, it was still hand made by that person. You can’t say that it’s not.
With your logic, games like Silent Hill Shattered Memories wasn’t made from scratch for the current generation systems at the time; they just used the PS1 silent hill and changed it around a bit.
This my friend is called a “Re-imagining”
Reimagine
–reinterpret (an event, work of art, etc.) imaginatively; rethink.
Yes, it was based off the source material but they didn’t just straight up steal it. They made it in their vision.
They rendered in the HotS Garrosh and yes, they changed it. They did not make it from nothing. They used the base cinematic, rendered old models out, new ones in, changed the angles, but all of it is rendered from the original.
… which is what I said from the start.
Where did I ever say this? Oh right… I didn’t.
shakes head
I don’t know what you people are reading, but this is a ridiculously circular conversation.
I mean feels better. Blizzard cinematics have to follow the same moods and tones. The animations and cuts have to feel the exact same way. It creates a characteristic. Usually, opens with a question followed by the antagonists proving their points. This is where you feel the goose bumps.
“Every choice I made, I would proudly make again.”
“This World is a prison.”
That’s why when you watch Blizzard cinematics, they feel the same. You feel the same goose bump with OW, you feel the same with Heartstone, with HOTS and WoW.
If it was rendered from the original, how did they edit the video file? I didn’t know you could render files with an cinematic anyway. Normally people use Video production tools to make a video but think about how good this dood must be if he rendered it from a Video file itself. Woah.
No, you’ve said multiple times that they just used the original and changed it.
You’ve been implying that they used the original to make this one. Yes, it’s based off the original but it’s re-imagined into a nicer, cleaner presentation. Just because I know you’ll come back and fight me on my sarcasm up above.
