Can Someone Explain the Vulpera Hate to Me?

I quit the game before they were added as a race. Why do so many people seem to hate them?

The only negative thing I’ve heard about them is that Blizzard forced them to be union busters (typical Blizzard).

I’m baffled that people single them out as “furries” when…I mean…(gestures at tauren pandaren and worgen).

Is it because the Horde wanted the snake folk more? I like them too, but should this ire be aimed at the vulpera or at blizzard’s decision not to make the snakes playable as well?

So, I hate to sound like an aging, increasingly problematic comedian, but…

"Whats the deal with Vulpera?

Edit for people too stupid to realize the game was full of furries before Vulpera:

I thought most people consider them a perfectly fine meal.

Gross, why would you eat a fox?

The Vulpera are popular, and the tallest trees catch the most wind.

Blood Elves are also popular, and also hated. So people find every reason they can to hate them. “They are too human”, “not monster enough”, “don’t fit in with the Horde”, “not manly enough”, “too pretty”, “too Barbie-like”, etc.

For the Vulpera, the hate justification is “furries”.

Not by any stretch of the imagination or metrics are Vulpera popular.

I’m pretty sure the reason people hate butt elves is them and their counterparts (blue butt elves) are constantly whining about not being “high” enough.

They are the third most popular Allied Race, and the second most popular Horde-side.

It’s mostly because they don’t really seem “Horde” on the surface level, despite their whole schtick basically being less warthirsty Orcs but foxes… they live in a post apocalyptic nomadic scavenger society that has shaped their entire culture around survival in an unlivable desert, they’re practically more Horde than the Pandaren and other similar races already in it.

Also a very loud minority of their players like to play into the UwU stereotype of furries.

Despite these being a small minority in actuality, like with anything, folks only pay attention to the most first glance thing they notice. This is because if you pay too much attention (good luck) on these forums, you’ll notice many of us have less attention retention than a GOLDFISH (3 months by the way, so kudos to the Goldfish).

We provide a forum safe analogue for forum users to harass that would normally get them banned if they had said about the people they are using us as a stand in for.

A gnome sized furry.

Because there are those that still somehow think that others will find them cool if they bash/hate on popular stuff, because some just never outgrow that high school mentality.

They aren’t disliked though. Not in-game. It is just on these forums that people choose to hate 'em, usually for one of the many different bollocks-reasons already mentioned here.

So… don’t take it seriously, and if someone is actually acting seriously like that … they are 999/1000 times a troll, so best ignored anyways.

While all of those can be considered very (especially worgen) Vulpera are designed in such a way visually that attracts the more typical furry to them as opposed to the other races listed.

I think I’ve met like maybe 2 people who play Tauren that are actually furries

This too, good portion of people on here are just losers who do nothing but make troll posts

I don’t have a problem with the vulpera as they are cat-like anthropomorphic foxes (foxes with human-like characteristics, they’re not exactly furries) and most of my alts are vulpera. I kind of dont understand the hate for these fantasy animal creatures either. I guess the problem is its from how society sees them now days.

I’m not sure about the “furry” aspect of the argument. I’ve just seen hatred for the tiny cute fox like race.

Maybe it’s the voice. Maybe it’s because they are just too darn cute.

I don’t know, really.

However, the “furry” thing (which I’m assuming it’s the IRL dressing up in costumes thing)… that’s a new one for me.

I can’t help but laugh at people that complain about furries.

I laugh at them on my 20-year old tauren Hunter.
