Can someone explain the Rhok’delar questline?

From what I remember, the hunter has to solo 3 elite demons. They can’t use their pet either IIRC.

What happens if a random player starts attacking the demons? Does the quest automatically fail or what?

Google is your friend, by the time you wait on an answer you could of googled it.

Why worry about something that very probably isn’t going to happen?

As I recall it, you have to get the kill yourself. Hopefully you won’t run into any Rhok’holes.

Four elite demons, put pet away and read up on strats. Yes opposition and allies alike can diddle with it. Three demons easy peasy, last one not so much.

So the video I watched recently of someone doing this in Classic was false news?

LOL.

Imagine thinking this is a helpful thing to say.

It is, why do people come to forums when its easier to google something

If another player or your pet, or anything attacks the demon it will despawn.

You don’t have to kill the demon yourself, technically… you can have another hunter kill it for you, but then you can’t attack. If they are in your group you can loot the quest item.

Not sure if a non-hunter can attack without it despawning, but the mechanics are such that any other class wouldn’t be able to kill it.

If anything other than the single hunter gets on the mob’s aggro table he gets mad and leaves. If you’re worried about it get some friends to guard the area. None of them are difficult except maybe silithus guy.

Oh wait… you’re on a PvP server. SO sorry.

Well, to answer your question. . . iirc you DO have to get the kill by yourself.

If anything else gets on the aggro table, the game should spawn a mob that kills you and anyone else within a certain radius.

I think you have 15 minutes to defeat the demon, which will respawn if you fail.

Yes.

I have an alt parked out there specifically for preventing horde hunters from getting it while I’m logged in.

The quest doesn’t “fail”.

The quest is to get an item drop from the mob. You still have the quest you just don’t get the item.

Yeah why talk to anyone? Why even have forums? haHAA

Forums are only for drama, most don’t take them seriously.

More proof we’re surrounded by self entitled, anti-social, narcissists, who would rather be snarky than help.
The part that boggles the mind is: Why are they drawn to a socially based game like Classic WoW?

Easier is not always better, and sometimes social discourse is preferable to google.

Not only does it fail if ANYONE else comes onto the demon’s threat table, but they will despawn for 7 hours. This is over twice as long as the 3 hour kill respawn. That was a huge problem back on Nost which had these same timers, but on a realm with 15k players. There was a huge backlog of hunters at the demon spawns. They were actually trying to make a sign up/queue list to determine who should fight next, otherwise no one would ever get one. The awful private server staff (good riddance Nost) never cared about the problem nor reduced the timers what so ever to help the problem.

You can still use other players though. They can buff you prior to fights starting and keep other mobs out of your way. The silithus demon is much easier if you have fear immunity, which you can get from a warlock. The winterspring demon almost requires you to have shadow resist from a priest, else you’ll struggle to kill it in time before you melt to death.

might as well shut the forum down entirely, you can google everything we talk about on here

shut wow head down too, its the same stuff.

If anyone (and I mean anyone including the hunters pet) besides a hunter (or hunters) on the quest so much as breathes on the demon the demon despawns. Not sure of current despawn timer but was 12 hrs when I did it way back when.

I agree

you should probably just uninstall too, that way you wont have to deal with wow players and their questions anymore
