Spoilers for the new raid cinematic or whatever
but why was Gazlowe concerned enough about Gallywix that he warned him twice about the robot falling on him? Obviously I know Gazlowe is a nice guy or whatever but the tone of his voice/facial expressions are sort of confusing me, because he seemed -really- concerned. Did they used to be friends or something? Or did they need Gally alive?
I’ll admit that after so many decades of playing WoW, my goblin (and WoW) lore isn’t up to date lol
I’m not sure if there is a lore reason, but it’s likely just that Gazlowe is a good dude. Like he wants all the death to stop, including Gallywixs for some reason.
Personally, I’d be helping by pushing the robot so it falls faster and harder on Gallywix.

Pragmatically, Gallywix is more useful alive.

Gallywix was the Horde goblin leader and Bilgewater Cartel boss at one point, so Gazlowe would have had a personal relationship with him.
I think it was to show how good of a guy Gazlowe is, to the point where he didn’t want Gallywix to die or be harmed, but just to not be in charge of anything. But that changed when Renzik got killed.

I mean, even after everything Garrosh did in MoP, they still took him alive. Gazlowe may have been particularly motivated to remove Gallywix from power, but didn’t necessarily want to see him crushed under a giant robot.

In lore, Gazlowe is actually a decent dude and probably wanted to change Jastor’s mind instead

Think about all the knowledge Gallywix had about everything xal’atath related
Be pretty useful

It’s a forced reaction in story telling.
You just can’t have the “good guy” triumph over the villain in a morally ambiguous way, unless it serves the story. It also is a cliché of writing, it’s basically a type of direct foreshadowing, or dramatic tension to elevate the suspense of the moment.
It doesn’t super translate well in video game animation.
It also doesn’t translate super well when we just took out that little psychopath before entering the raid.
But, here we are. It was kind of a fitting end. The end of Galliwix was very flat, and kind of silly. Like his personality.

Gazlowe is a good dude. He wanted to save the city. He wanted justice for Renzik. He didn’t want needless death.
And Gallywix’s death was about as needless as they come. He died because he couldn’t stop his own tantrum.

if they wanted a new undermine they couldn’t just kill him and take his place like so many of the other coups that likely occurred in the history of the undermine. they likely would have wanted him to face justice, extract any and all useful information from him and then likely jail him or defang him and exile him from goblin society, because there are always fates worse than death

Guess he gets to hang out with Sylvannas in the Maw now lol.
He wanted to stop Gallywix, not kill him.

Never mind all the quests where he explicitly tells us to go forth and wantonly murder other goblins by the truckload…

Um, Gazlowe put me up to sniping people from a rooftop.
What’s with this Gazlowe is a nice guy stuff?!

Likely he wanted Gallywix alive to stand trial to show a better way for Goblins.

Thanks for the responses everyone lol, I figured there was a specific lore reason but I guess not!
the beginnings of the Maw dark horde council…
This, and a splat-ified Gallywix is a really nasty mess that someone’s gonna have to mop up.
That quest made me think of this scene
Gazlowe, despite having a hit on him by Jastor, sees the good in everyone. A trait not a lot of people have.
Gazlowe is more of an exception to the rule, Gallywix was the rule.
