I thought of it as more of a “Spirit” related event. If you are resurrected, your spirit never goes to the arbiter.
When Arthas raised Sylvannas, her soul was shattered.
But I think this had more to do with Frostmourne. Her spirit might be in limbo, but her body decayed naturally.
Thick. Pale. Hot. Calia explained. You’re welcome.

This is what they said in game when calia was talking to the margrave.
Margrave Sin’dane: But whether these rituals are empowered by Death or Light or any other magic, necromancy is necromancy. You perceive a difference where there is none, child.

I look at it this way ,the Naruu don’t have the power to bring the dead to life but only release a spirit of suffering as the case with Crusader Bridenbrad who was overcome by the plague. So what truly is different here?
There is, having your soul ripped away, and your corpse risen, is a lot different from being resurrected and your body returning and not decayed, also their soul is intact.
Short answer: she’s garbage. And we can leave it at that.

Our writing team loves destroying what fantasy writers have been building for centuries to justify their lore changes. Sometimes not explaining something is better than trying to explain it.
Nobody needs to truly know why Undead Paladins are ok. It would honestly be better to create Void Paladins instead. That, or not give us a reason why necromancy infused beings can wield the light.
she is not alive, she is undead, her soul had already passed beyond the veil when they tried to resurrect her, so instead of forcing her soul back into her body as was intended, it just sort of haphazardly stapled it to her body like the Forsaken’s souls are,
making her an undead raised into undeath by the light
She’s a product of wind chime necromancy.
How exactly does a light driven spell resurrect a shadow born undead then?
She’s a strange one ,the Naruu can’t rez the dead and we can’t either ,something else did ,some sort of precognition dream she had which i don’t think it was the jailer nor the old gods.
that’s probably just game mechanics more than anything that would actually make sense,
but maybe its doing something similar? stopping the soul from passing through again
You know how the jumper cable Brez says there are side effects? Ever seen one fail to rez someone? Well Calia is like in between a successful and a failed jumper cable brez. Didn’t quite get enough juice for a full rez.
This is exactly why you don’t put major plot points in a book.

She is an Alliance princess that is being used as a political puppet to infiltrate the Horde to subvert Horde leadership towards being subservient to the Alliance.

Bottom line: Calia looks Alliance (though she is not), so Horde players strongly dislike her.
Same as Jaina. Being undead, Light or not, is irrelevant. What’s relevant is looking Alliance = Horde players know no mercy for her.
Or you can look at her history. Princess of an alliance kingdom, abandoned said kingdom when it was no longer alliance, hid amongst the alliance.
Came back and we’re going to pretend she’s horde? Ok… glad to see the alliance trying to spread misinformation and propaganda to promote the alliance puppet as a horde leader.

She IS undead. Her body is still a corpse with her soul shoved back inside of it. Undead= corpse reanimated by some magic force. The only difference is in this case the corpse was reanimated and is sustained by Light instead of shadow/death. Eye color has nothing to do with it. Lillian Voss originally had blue death knight eyes until they updated her model. Dark rangers have always had red eyes, and the majority of Forsaken had yellow eyes until they gave access to other colors to players.
