So DS was already nerfed in pvp by 25%. So it’s 40% down to 30%(18.75% healing without the 60% increased healing talent that brings it back to SL levels)
This is what we had before the nerf
That aforementioned 60% increased healing talent is now 30%
18.75*1.30%= 24.375%
24% healing from damage taken is pretty workable, but it doesen’t match blizzards expectations.
That gets nerfed by 50% again, this time to the baseline so…
24.375% *.50= 12.1875
Come patch day, a dk will heal for 12% of all damage taken in the last 5 seconds when they press death strike.
This isn’t including mortal strike, this isn’t including dampening.
absolutely absurd nerfs that need to be looked again in a context that is not world pvp
dhs running around untouched, what is dk supposed to do vs warrior enhance rogues beside chain spam and run and pray now
also that abom nerf is silly, everyone over 2k knows how to insta outplay that spell and now its just a glorified 2 minute death grip that does okay damage vs people without the unity effect

Turbo is known to be the biggest dk killer comp in the game, we legit only have 1 defensive vs that, ibf. War / Enhance is terrifying
is death strike affected by MS? I think some of the heals in this game aren’t, usually % stuff isn’t. I dont play my DK enough to know and generally before this nerf MS never killed DKs, it was disarming them.
At least you still have half a dozen defensive buttons to press ON TOP of healing. Fully geared DKs/DHs/Fury wars have LITERALY been outhealing dedicated healers in BGs. It had to be addressed. You’re still 10x tankier than an Enh.

These nerfs are utterly retarded, and show that none of the developers play PvP on any remotely competitive level. Will of the Necropolis was the main issue. A 35% permanent wall below 30% was borderline broken, even though I liked how it was an anti-execute. Its nerf is completely justified. I can understand the AMS nerfs too, although I’d rather they’d just delete Spellwarden instead. But nerfing Death Strike is an absurd overkill. It will basically turn us into a glass cannon. DKs are supposed to be tanky juggernauts, not glass cannons. I don’t want to spam chains of ice and kite every single melee until my cooldowns are up because I can’t trade to them due to having garbage sustain.
I’ve no doubt that both specs will be viable even after these nerfs, and I don’t deny that a nerf was needed because of how absurdly tanky they were. But this is basically swinging the pendulum in the completely opposite direction. It just proves that the developers haven’t got a clue how to balance classes in PvP. I’d hoped that we’d move on from the degenerate chains spam gameplay in DF. Guess not…
