Can someone add this to the monk beta feedback please?

I’d post something there myself, but I don’t have beta access.

Where are the suggestions? Maybe I’m just not seeing them because to me, it’s just a standard talent calculator that people can see on Wowhead.

It’s stylized to look like Wowhead’s talent calculator, but a side-by-side comparison will reveal the differences.

There’s quite a few suggestions scattered throughout, but here are a few:

  • Added a version of “Keefer’s Skyreach” to the base talent tree on a choice node with “Roll Out”. This version of Keefer’s just increases the range of Tiger Palm by 10 yards and causes the dash mechanic… no other affects like what’s seen on the current Windwalker talent tree.
  • Redid the capstone talents on the monk class tree. The statues are still there, but there are now additional talents on the row below them to make them better.
  • Kept a lot of the concepts and talents on the Mistweaver tree, but tweaked how Ancient Teaching of the Monastery works in lieu of a new “Red Crane Stance” talent.
  • etc

There’s really too much to fit into a single text post.

Generally you need to explain what you want though and explain various changes. No one is going to go through a talent tree and guess lol.

Fair point. I hadn’t really designed in a way to present “this is why I’m making this suggestion” for each and every change.

The general reason behind it is to just make the talent trees feel better and have more meaningful choices. The current trees have some great options, but there are quite a few talents that are purposefully avoided simply because they’re not worth the talent investment or they’re just bad within and of themselves.

Sent it to Blizzards’ Twitter - they seem to respond to things there.

Thanks for doing that. Much appreciated!

not even worth it.

they added bonedust brew as a talent choice.

that alone speaks to how lost they are.

I’ve got some thoughts as to why Bonedust Brew was added:

  • Minimize development time by recycling existing abilities.
  • Find out what Covenant abilities are being used the most often by Monk players (even if the advantage was purely statistical and not because players actually like the ability thematically).
  • Fill in space on the talent tree if they’re having a hard time thinking of other abilities.

I agree that Bonedust Brew is thematically… at odds with the Monk class fantasy, but I could see it sort of working. Personally, I wouldn’t be picking it up without a few tweaks. It just doesn’t seem super fun to use for an ability on such a (comparatively) long cooldown.

I actually like the the ability it’s pretty straight forward to use and you’re definitely rewarded for using it correctly but it’s just craziness, I am not a warlock or priest why am I dealing shadow damage.
