Can Sire Denathrius come back?

They according to https://youtu.be/kUO5-VeAMhc?t=2031 scrapped the decision the moment they finished his Animated Short: Shadowlands Afterlives: Revendreth(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM90NNF3oMw).

They liked the voice so much they decided to keep him.

Just so you know we haven’t the slightest clue when the Animated Short was made just when it was released though according to Blizzard in the interview I linked it was made before they called in the other Voice Actors which was very early in Shadowlands Alpha.

I am torn on this because… Shadowlands… but his arch was the only good bit story wise lol.

Denathrius would definitely match Xel’atath’s level of dramatism

Oh can we focus on his little hoofies every cutscene?

I joke! I’m actually insanely jealous of the sweet ankle and feet jewelery Xal has.

Yes I did. Now that being said I understand that the small percentage of players who are exclusively high level end game players hated the release because of Covenants and borrowed power however those things did not impact people who play for quests, professions, gathering, mounts, transmog, role play, etc.

And the topic of retcon has been discussed at length and simply didn’t exist. There was no established lore for where the Dreadlords came from so saying Sire Denathrius created them did not change, or “retcon” anything. Since they provided Frostmourn and the Helm that was not a retcon either.

Even the suggestion that lore explaining those things was established only came from the “Chronicles” which have been described by Blizzard as “The undisputed Bible for Azeroth Lore but wait a minute it’s only the Titan’s view of Azeroth lore.”

The only way I can see him coming back now, is if we had some weird light-thing with Beledar, and somehow it ties to whatever the hell happened with the Light in Revendreth.

Basically, it’d be a huuuuge stretch to bring him back in any capacity.

We know he’s not dead, but, I just don’t see how he’ll come back from a story standpoint. He’s basically finished, as a villain.

I don’t see why not. Isn’t he just a robot? Aren’t all the Shadowlands leaders robots for no reason?

Pretty much everyone liked Denathrius and Nathria in general. It was the subsequent content drought for like 7-8 months and Sylvanas/Jailer stuff that people didn’t like.

He’s still around (his spirit just went into the sword after the raid, and the dreadlords disappeared with it), so there’s no reason he couldn’t come back. He probably will at some point since the dreadlords stealing the sword was an obvious setup for another appearance later.

Well maybe, hard to tell. But that was my favorite zone.

I’m actually really happy to hear, a lot of folks want to have him back as well.

Also yea…he may not help us directly but I’d assume he’d want to join the fight against Xal’atath…even for his own ends.

He was one year f the best parts of shadowlands. So I expect him to return in the future. But I don’t expect it be as glorious as he was last time, he’s going to be pissed this time.

I expect him to manipulate some parts in the future.
