if that happens, i won’t complain but it seems to me like there’s already been a tinge of vampirism embedded within the theme of shadow, and while many don’t see the reference to vampirism as literal, maybe it could be as an optional choice for some of us who like the idea. at the end of the day I may just roll Venthyr on my Spriest to get the feel I am looking for. But was just spitballing some cool ideas I had
void and light kinda made everything by clashing into each other alot.

other magical sources are approached same as arcane, but i assume blood magic source is a mix of arcane and using the magical essences in the veins, like how blood elves use too be attached too a magic well for along time.
Vampiric touch is a spell.
Do some research on Shadow magic first. It’s already linked to Death and Blood.
It’s just the mirror of Light magic which is linked to Life.
This is a good idea. Give shadow priest blood magic. It’ll make them a lot more interesting. Will make them more fun to play. I’m sure will make their moves a lot more interesting. Do it blizzard. It would really make me wanna play a shadow priest. It would make it really interesting.

Like the void, yes. They are SHADOW priests, not BODY HORROR priests.
I’m pretty sure blood magic isn’t an Old God thing. I think you’re making that up. They almost strictly deal in Void/Shadow magic.
I think you’re just trying to justify your own vampire fantasy with anything you can grasp.
The San’Layn, and Nathrezim also don’t have any connection to the Old Gods, or the void, as far as we know, other than the Nathrezim were once working for them.
But that’s like saying a Dwarf can turn into a dragon, because they contracted him to clean up their waste dens… Which obviously isn’t the case.

Blood has been used in MoP by the Mogu where it is called Life Magic, in WoD by the Bleeding Hollow Clan and in BfA by Blood Elves, Blood Trolls(who serve the Old God G’huun) and Mogu…
The Venthyr usually use Tortured Sin Magic(which is a brighter shade of Red than Blood) with the Blood Magic users being rare.
Torturing Sin(a form of Death Energy) with Shadow will turn it from Black to Red just as torturing Life will turn it to a Dark Red Color in the form of Blood.
Venthyr torture both Death and Life Magics with Shadow(they even have Door of Shadows as a Spell) and get something Red both times!

We should have cosmetic effects for spells in general. We have a decent start with glyphs but maybe this blood magic stuff could be made into an option like the warlock’s green fire spells. We could use more of that type of cosmetics.
I still question why would a Shadow Priest individuals with the ability to warp and bend reality to their liking want to resort to something with such limited potential?
It sounds like a significant downgrade.
