Can ret paladins have both single and AOE skill tree talents at the same time?

Just curious if they can, coz I can pull pretty good AOE, but with single target its a hit or a miss… I’m 451ilvl now.

You pick one or the other. Can’t use the same build for m+ and raiding.

With the current tier set bonus, as well as some choices, you can do decent AOE while also doing good single target, but if you want the best version of either, you do have to spec hard into them.

I mean, you won’t be struggling to keep up with the tank on a boss fight, but generally no: you pick a single-target or AoE build for M+.

Same with Marksmanship Hunter, too many aoe talents that should be baseline.

Ret currently has the biggest gap between aoe and st damage in their respective talent setups than any other DPS spec (eg our aoe spec loses 30% st and our st spec loses 30% of our aoe damage). Just sucks because other classes only have to swap 1-2 talent points and their st and aoe difference is negligible.

If only Blizzard Allowed us to switch Talents inside M+ like we can in Raids then it wouldn’t be so detrimental to us.
