As the title says. Can resto druid or holy priest solo quest?
Are they able to kill things 1v1 in Pvp?

Resto is one of the best specs for end game, pvp included. You’re better off leveling as feral however.

( TL;DR: yes, they can. it’s slow, but it can be done. )
As for PVP, the depends on your enemy. Holy Priests and Restoration Druids win by attrition. This can be very difficult at low levels, because you’re likely to run out of mana trying to kill your opponent and not die – and the Warrior, Rogue, Hunter isnt going to run out of auto-attack/auto-shoot.
Holy Priests can beat Paladins via Mana Burn spam (but even then, actually killing them isnt fast). Just dont drop before 50% and get “LOLSOC’D” by a Ret Paladin. Restoration Druids should just /lol at Paladins, cast Rejuvenation, and walk away. After 40, Paladins can cleanse Insect Swarm and Moonfire – dont even try to Wrath/Starfire a Paladin.
Holy Priests can deal with all Mages easily. thanks to Mana Burn and Dispel.
Restoration Druids should not bother trying to kill Frost Mages. Arcane and Fire Mages are fun to slay, because Spell Steal doesn’t exist in Vanilla. Just watch out for a Counterspell at <50% health followed by a 3-Minute Mage burst.
Restoration Druids should run away from Warlocks. You might be able to win an attrition battle against a Destro-Lock, but it’s more likely you’re gonna get feared and “LOL SHADOWBOLT CRIT’D”. The same applies to Shadow Priests. Restoration Druids should fear Shadow Priests. Holy Priests should kill Shadow Priests on sight because it’s very, very, very funny.
Holy Priests can battle Warlocks, but it’s not really worth the headache. It’s a mana fight and Warlocks have the mana drain/silence/CC to win, so it can be fun to engage in a prolonged duel, but … well, under most circumstances, I’d bet on the Warlock.

If you go Druid, level as feral. Keep a few caster items for healing dungeons. At 60, go HotW spec, look it up. It allows you to tank or DPS, and heal, just by swapping gear. The true hybrid spec for raids.
I’m leveling as Resto and doing just fine. I don’t feel like I’m lacking in any punch, and, in my feral suit I reliably top the DPS charts in dungeons. (Not that meters matter. Just as a point of fact)
Does insect swarm do decent damage?
In Classic, no, it does not. It is, however, very mana efficient (for what that’s worth — which isnt much).
Insect Swarm is much better in TBC (and in the Balance Tree, where it belongs).
No, but every little bit helps. The 2 percent miss chance adds up over the course of a night too.
