Maybe I am missing something but Primal Wrath tooltip states the skill will apply Rip + additional DOT. However, reading some of the online guides, they suggest the use of Rip for single target.
Why is this the case?
Rip applies the DoT for longer than Primal Wrath
As Zalgo mentioned, Rip lasts twice as long as Primal Wrath, and Rip also does more damage. Did you even bother looking at the abilities?

I’m not in the game right now, but I’m almost certain this is incorrect. I suppose it effectively does more damage because it last longer, but the amount of damage per tick done by the regular version of Rip is identical to that done by the Primal Wrath version of Rip.

Primal wrath applies Rip. It’s the exact same spell. There is no “primal wrath version” of rip. The only difference is the duration.

Reapplication frequency is different since PW will only tick Rip for a short duration.
If you’re tunneling a single target, you can spend that CP on other stuff (being bitey) instead of constantly reapplying rip bleed.
Rip on single target is more damage per energy spent. Simply put it’s more efficient. However with a certain cursed build you can spam primal wrath with a very marginal loss on ST but with the upcoming tuning (which I feel like was targeted at builds like this) that will stop being a thing.

Which in turn increases the damage? The question was what is the difference between the two, the answer is not none.

Not from rip, Which is what you incorrectly stated.
Pressing Rip once every 24 seconds vs pressing PW every 12 will produce the exact same damage from rip.
Is it efficient? Absolutely not. You’ll get more damage from spending those combo points on bites. But Rip absolutely does not do more damage than PW.

You’re wrong. An energy/cp based class having to reapply dots more frequently but for the same amount of damage directly impacts your dmg potential, therefore, Rip does more dmg than Primal Wrath ST.

Using rip vs primal wrath in ST is more efficient use of energy/CP.
Nobody ever argued this. In fact, it’s been explained multiple times ad nauseam.
But this….
Deliberately vague and misleading, and also incorrect, since PW has direct damage as well. If you’re killing a target that will die sooner than 24 seconds, using PW is actually the better option. It’s not as cut and dry as you’re making it out to be.
You’re not being the least bit helpful for a struggling player simply seeking helpful advice.

Blatantly false. If Im killing a mob that will die in 10-15 seconds (Which occurs quite often) PW will do more damage than pressing rip would have.
