Can Orgrimmar get an overhaul, please?

When I look at Stormwind, I think of Human.
When I look at Orgrimmar, I think of Garrosh.

In Stormwind, you have bright lighting everywhere, you always see your characters fresh and clean.

In Orgrimmar, you are constantly switching background between a red tainted sky or the Molten Core. What does it remind me?

Mordor from Lord of the Rings, except, instead of having tall and epic structures like the Warsong Hold in Northern, there are many camping tents, most are pretty empty too, nowhere to sit, no tables around, crates scattered everywhere randomly. I wonder how Horde NPCs manage to come up with all the battle plans, documents and books.

Is it because of the technological difference? I don’t think so. Naaru didn’t enlist to build Stormwind. If they come to see Orgimmar, they might grow a pair of eyes and start crying too. “Here children of the Light, here’s a Tempest Keep 2.0”

Jokes aside, excluding Naaru’s technology, both factions are similar in terms of tech advancement.

But when I look at Stormwind, I see medieval architecture and elegance.
When I look at Orgrimmar, I see primitive, savage and unorganised… tents.

Can we call the alliance to help us build up something like the Warsong Hold if Horde is going to be Mordor in wow for the next 10 expansions?

And if you are worried that this will only make the Horde more popular and further widen the faction imbalance. Why don’t you make Alliance interesting to play and be the stir-er of the pot for one expansion?

From what I gather, Orgrimmar is still loosely related in the appearance theme to the Orcish Horde of Warcraft I, II, III series, but yes all the changes done to Orgrimmar in Cataclysm were a reflection of short-lived Warchief Garrosh’s ideals and strangely they have remained that way since.

In the lore, I think I read ten years back that the Horde shipped vast quantities of Saronite/Black Steel/Iron from Northrend to Durotar when reconstructing the place.

I like spikes, don’t get me wrong, but spikes on buildings, not tents.
The front and rear gates of Orgrimmar got it right. The whole thematic experience entering Orgimmar from the entrance on foot is like BfA.

Hyped for a gigantic disappointment.

They already redid Orgrimmar.

It’s true. Org needs a new look. Its spikes should have spikes!

Orgrimmar already got its renovation -

What they need to do at this point is work on the other capitals - get them the missing utilities and facilities (portals, etc) and allow people not to be compressed into the blandest of options.

Blizzard once realized that having everyone in ONE place compressed the size and impact of their game, and basically rendered the other capitals pointless. So they added auctioneers to every city, and it was great. Then they got lazy again, turning Orgrimmar and Stormwind into the de facto faction capitals around Cataclysm, and its been downhill ever since.

Sadly, with the destruction of Teldrassil and Undercity, it’s even less likely they’ll move to broaden capital utilities and let people “live” somewhere else.

Org does still feel very Cataclysm-y.

That explains why they never fix Quel’thalas.

Well that and the fact the the original design was done in the non-flying style of Vanilla, with facades and area compression and a whole lot of shortcuts. It’s why there was no flight in Quel’danas as well. They’d have to rebuild it from the ground up to make it work, making it the most extreme renovation they could undertake.

That said, with Undercity now Sylvanas’d into a permanent deadly fartcloud, Silvermoon is the only Horde stronghold in the Eastern Kingdoms, making it that much more important.

But on a positive note, without the city being destroyed, they hardly have a reason to remake it in the following expansions.

Blame the trolls and Tauren

Those guys love tents, Orcs have actual buildings

Yes!
Orgrimmar should go back to looking something like it used to, it looks so stupid now…

But that’s not how the faction capitals are designed around. You don’t see any representations of other races aside of Orcs (Horde) and Human (Alliance) in the majority of the capital.

Both capitals have designated area where you will find these “less important” races’ representation.

I really don’t get your complaint then

Why would Orgimmar be anything like stormwind?

It’s almost like they’re entirely different species with entirely different cultures

Yea, Orgimmar has houses, workshops, bazaars basically, and places for combat, the place was built as a fort and ready for combat if the need be

Stormwind was built as a city

Yeah they could do the overhaul But it would cost you an expansion…

When did I say that?

I only compare Stormwind and Orgrimmar because there’s only two factions in this game, and they are both the capitals.

Org sucks. Stormwind is way better. The music, the theme, it’s just a nicer place.

If you don’t like org - you’re not horde player. It’s perfect for true zug-zug dude
