Looks like I became too old for doing same grinding/farming day by day for many months. Playing WoW since 2005.
Bottom line is that I’ve seen it all before many years ago:
frankly, I was expecting some REAL shadowlands. Some gloomy zones with scary creatures, creepy dungeons etc. But what I saw? 1 paradise island with fairies, foxes and unicorns, 1 fairy island with same kindergarten setting, some kind of undead island, vampire island (last two ok for me) and Maw (small, grindy, but ok)
pvp gear grinding (hello 24/7 every Saturday and Sunday Alterac)
title grinding (^^)
azerite farming (and now absolutely insane amounts of anima+soul ash required for upgrades)
daily quests farming. Boring and not worth of doing them.
mythic and mythic+ farming. Almost all people from my guild already quit doing it.
I just copy/pasted from another thread but I’m 100% agree with opinion:
covenant ability restriction suck
pvp gearing was great but pvp itself is dead
maw sucks and we had to run everywhere for months because of (???) reasons
torghast sucks. Dumbest time sink ever. And not a single person from my guild want do it together because NOBODY like to do it!
legendaries suck and are locked behind sucky content
conduit energy sucks
no flight whistle and flight paths go through Oribos to waste more time
P.S. IMHO WotLK was the best what happened to WoW for all these years. /nostalgic crying
What? No. The Maw is not ok. It is so dreary miserable awful place. It is supposed to be that way? Ok. Understood. Did Blizzard think sending the players to hell was a good idea? Oh yes, I want to spend my leisure time in Hell and pay for it! Really!
Conceptually this expansions is idiotic as it was executed as for its playability. Recently I decided to level a new toon and have been enjoying old content. Leveling flies by though and does not last now, I would have preferred to experience older instances that I enjoyed doing.
Personally I think at the end of this expansion the resolution would be to close the gates to shadowlands once and for all. We can leave all those damn NPC’s there too, start fresh with new ones on Azeroth. But it is just going to be more bad story and content going forward from Blizzard, that is the expectation they set.
I’ll continue playing because I had a huge investment of my time, and there is no other MMO out there that vaguely interests me - all players get to do is vent on forums.
sorry but I quite like the 4 afterlives. Shadowlands is the afterlife it isn’t just scary stuff.
Pvp gearing is fine, it was so much fun. They could use an alt catch up for honor tho
When they give u easy currency people complain nothing to grind, when you get a grind u complain chore
Dailies have always been a grind in every expansion nothing different here.
You guild is a very small sample size and proves nothing. So many keys are in premade finder all the time .
It does suck but that’s where meaningful choice comes in. I don’t like it as well but it’s sort of nice being tied to 1 covenant.
Pvp is not dead, bgs are still happening arenas are still happening
Again maw is no different from daily quests that have been part of every expansion
Again this is just your opinion and not everyone else’s
U mean dungeons with really well done graphics and mechanics ?
Majority of the players haven’t even been in the situation where they have to wait for conduit to refill
U mean you minute of flying lol? U might as well ask for teleports to coordinates
Seems like you just want stuff handed to you for free and when they do hand it for free you will say game rewards aren’t meaningful because they are so easily given .
It’s all one big grind. They just “change it up” each xpac. However, They are getting lazier and lazier and people are noticing it. If the company doesn’t make some major turn arounds it will only doom itself. Could be a slow death, but its upsetting to see the developers take that route when they could be flooded with revenue from better decisions.
I have no idea of the innerworkings of how things go, but they’re obviously not doing a good job.
I do feel like the grinds have gotten more blatant and more poorly hidden over time. The rewards are less and the grinds for them longer. People are finally taking notice. However, this trend has been going on since at least Legion (remember Paragon mounts? Shudder)
It’s a video game forum. People on a forum will have differing views, some of us don’t continue to spend our time, money, and effort on a game we sit around and complain about the whole time. If you can’t deal with opposing views then I’m not sure what to tell you.
It isn’t opposing views it is condescending people like you who tell people they are bad or we are happy you are leaving, that is in no way shape or form a view!
Get off your high horse and try to either help or understand where someone is coming from. I bet you’re the life of parties?
Trust me, dude. I get the frustration, but you’re best off just not engaging. That player delights in other peoples’ misery so getting frustrated and lashing out is exactly what they want. Don’t feed them.
Yeah, I hear you “wasted energy” Just annoys me when people talk down to others cause they are on the internet and know they wouldn’t do that to someone’s face.
For some reason it seems to get under your skin, which is why you said they were -
Just because you think something is wrong doesn’t mean they think something is wrong. Your opinion is just that, an opinion, an opinion that is no more valid than any other opinion here.
People like me are condescending but not people who tell others that they are -
Well, WoLK had the highest playerbase in the game’s history. It speaks for itself.
But let’s be honest too, that Blizz set themselves up for failure; they’ve never been able to replicate a more sinister ‘bad guy’ and when Arthas’ story concluded, really so did the OG WoW. I loved Cata and MoP; WoD was the beginning downfall IMO.
