Wouldn’t hurt anyone if it did. You can still use crest cap as a nerf over time mechanic. The people pushing 12s are the crowd that chills all season and rolls alts.
It has no negatives to for other groups. Just positives for the higher end.
Please… im gonna start this tier 6 weeks late and be a vault slave… it sucks.
I don’t think Blizzard will ever add a repeatable, farmable, way to get mythic track gear. Being able to armor stack, and how easy it is for people to buy runs with gold, I just don’t see it happening.
That’d be so OP. We’d have full mythic BIS in a week. 12s are too easy to farm for myth track. Maybe give mythic track from +20s so only the tip top unrealistic gamer nerds can do it.
Yeah no miss me with that, it would make things way too silly in terms of gearing up and would invalidate a lot of content at a much larger pace.
Let alone the ramifications it would provide throughout the game and practically kill off any longevity of a patch cycle since you would have absolutely nothing to work towards at all.
H track gear being accessible is good enough as it is, M track gear should be locked behind a somewhat slower acquisition through the weekly vault or raiding, you don’t need to be in your full bis week 1 of a patch. You also might never get your full bis during a patch either and that’s ok too, there are plenty of options generally that would come close to the optimal set anyhow.
You would still farm crests, push mythic raids and raider io if that is your jam. The people knocking out 12s easily would be regardless it just allows them to effectively gear for their content. Without needing an alt raid.
This wouldn’t really affect much of the heroic raiding crowd.
Once Mythic Gear is farmable in M+, what next? Everyone gears up faster, higher difficulty content becomes more accessible, leading to a desire for more difficult content. Legendary mode is then introduced with a new raid and dungeon difficulty and near gear track.
We’re now back in where we were with people wanting the hardest most sought out after gear faster.
Sometimes luck doesn’t go your way, sometimes that dungeon trinket doesn’t spawn in your M+ row during a season. But there are always alternative gear pieces that are within a close enough range most of the time for that to not even matter.
Even before the great vault was a thing, many times there would be some unlucky bunch that never upgraded a piece the whole tier due to bad RNG for their raid drops or rolls for those items in pugs.
This would do a lot more than just effect it, the knock on effects would be ridiculous.
Community perception/attitudes would also shift to an even further toxic way due to an increase of players buying carries and would cause an even unhealthier relationship with the game time investment wise early in the season for players pushing content early before major nerfs.
