I have 358 gear average and my hitpoints are at 124k. That sucks. Yes I can sacrifice my dps and get it to 135 or if im lucky 140k. Its not fair that we have no hitpoints to work with. Not every class we fight is melee. When I go against hunters, shadow priest shamans, they easily have 150-170k hitpoints. How is it fair we start so far behind the eightball??
My god we don’t do that much damage to justify such a pathetic health pool.
My favorite part is dying instantly to classes that can do just as much damage as I can without having to worry about fake casting, blink never working when it needs to, and every class having more movement then blink provides anyways.
No. You’re just wrong here man. Mages/Shamans/Priests/Rogues (non tank classes) all have the same amount of base HP. It doesn’t matter if the gear is cloth, leather, or mail. It all gives the exact same amount of Stamina as long as it’s the same item level.
Priests have a stamina buff, but your allies can give you that. And you get an int buff for +10% intellect. Some classes have unique traits that give slightly more HP (I think BM hunters) and tanks also get more health. But otherwise you’ll all have the same.
And yes, actually mages do a lot of burst damage. You’re just undergeared (by a lot) and likely not playing with the correct stat optimization/azerite traits/talents and spell rotation.
But but Shimmer!!! -Cries of unkitable Fury Warriors/DKs
I am 380 ilvl in holy spec and have 154k health. I see shamans and hunters (without priest buff) at 170-190k health. They are either all 390ilvl or something’s friggin off about this…
DK Locks and I think hunters will have more HP than average due to passive skills and buffs given by blizzard. Everyone else is on an even playing field with gear and stamina.
So I really hate the pebble thing man. I shimmer to get away and get stuck on a pebble… Then. I get wrecked cause we’re so squishy…

Uh, mages can have some of the highest effective health.
With Resounding Protection and Ice Barrier, I have around 240k effective health at 387. With Fortitude, I sit around 175,000 health - which is not bad. Health bars will skyrocket in the next tier, anyway.
It’s an armor issue rather than a health issue.
Well, it’s not really an issue. Classes have strengths and weaknesses after all- but I don’t feel that mages are fairly compensated for the enormous physical damage they take. Hunters for example just counter the class hard seeing as though they take full advantage of cloth armor while being totally un-kitable (being ranged).
Mages currently are extremely reliant on a competent team, not unlike arms warriors.
My mage is 358 with 135k hp. I also have a 25k fire shield and an azerite trait shield for another 26k. So…50k shield every 30 sec with my 135k hp
yall just need to learn to play. i only have 90k health right now, 320 ilvlv and i dominate in battlegrounds. check talents and learn skills. learn to kite etc… it’s a mechanics issue, frost mages are VERY powerful right now
where;s ur mage i wanna see ur gear and talents then we can talk. mages are fine
