Because the Kyrians can all go die in a fire after that quest where I had to help erase that Tauren’s happy memories.
I have to admit…the forsworn have a point…
The Forsworn arent any better, they joined the Jailer and kill anyone who doesnt join them.
I agree with the Forsworn. But waiting to see how that whole campaign story plays out.
I’d argue that the Kyrians kill everyone that does join them. What are we if not our memories and the identities that those memories shape? We’re just programs running inside of a meat robot. Erase the program and you kill the person.
Isnt it pretty much solved in the Dungeon with Devos defeat?
It result with the Kyrian considering changing their ways
I can sum up the entire kyrion story line with a quote from legion “I am my scars” but its just dragged out allot longet now
if forsworn were a joinable covenant they would be the only one I play. I freaking love them.
I actually haven’t gotten to do this one yet. So I just haven’t seen how it shapes out. I’ve done random dungeons each day for the anima.
Once you understand why that has to happen, it makes more sense.
Once again, “Morally Gray,” rears it’s head!
it only makes sense if you don’t think about it too hard. it’s an almost infinitely vast universe. let them keep their memories and just don’t send them to collect souls from their home planet. Also, if you erase all their memories, that includes all the kind and good deeds they did to become the person worthy of bastion in the first place. you might as well grind their soul up and use the anima to power a subservient construct, since that’s essentially what you’re doing anyway.
Let’s be honest, you are not obligated to join the Kyrians, and as I could see you know in advance what you have to sacrifice to become angel… Ascend, you can just lay low there and relax with your memories.
They do this because you can’t have a flaw in your judgement caused by your life experience
Also, how are Stewards not a justification of evil.
I mean…bring me my drink now steward.
except if you fail at ascension, you don’t get to just ‘chill’. you get sent to the temple of loyalty where they ‘put you back on the path.’ it’s an orwellian nightmare.
It’s far more complicated than that.
Let’s say, for the sake of argument, that they didn’t erase memories and let them remember who they were in life. What happens when a Kyrian that was a righteous man of the law, is tasked to ferry the soul of a debased criminal or some evil monstrosity? Even if that criminal was from another world, the morals and judgements that the Kyrian would have because he remembers his past, would mean that his judgement would be impaired. He may consider that man worthy of the Maw because of his deeds and pull a Devos/Uther on the man, even though it is not his job to do so.
On the flip side to that, picture instead that this man of the law comes across a fellow lawman. He may decide to play favourites with this lawman because of shared experiences and give him a benefit that others might not have. Again because his judgement is impaired.
Anything that can impair the judgement of the Kyrian is purged, that includes good and bad memories.
Also consider the sheer volume of souls that need to be transported. The dead of all mortal worlds are carried by the Kyrian to Oribos. That includes those killed in natural disasters or genocidal attacks. When Teldrassil burned, all the dead were ferried by the Kyrian to Oribos before they were flung into the Maw. Do the Kyrian have the numbers to be able to say “Oh, you’re from Azeroth, so we can’t have you ferry souls from this genocide.” no, they’d want all hands on deck for when these disasters occurr.
Only if there is a forsworn lion mount I can have, I’m not cheap.

also because i just got this boy after about 7 hours of riding around and certain dungeons.
if you don’t want the good and righteous deeds they are inclined towards to be part of what they do, there’s no freaking reason to obliterate a good person to turn them into a subservient automaton. Just make an automaton and let the righteous rest in peace.
Why would you join the Forsworn? They kill and slaughter anyone who does not join them.
The Kyrian path while difficult and morally questionable doesn’t end with your execution. They send you away to reflect until you’re ready to try again.
The Forsworn give you a choice to join them and destroy The Shadowlands, or die. Yet somehow that’s more morally agreeable to you people.
Automatons can’t move between worlds the way Kyrian can.
For the record, they’re not ‘subservient beings’ they are good beings by nature, they just cannot have any biases that may impair their judgement.
