Can ICC Rep Farm Lock you?

I keep seeing mixed results but can clearing just trash to the first boss lock you?

No, farming trash doesnt lock you. If it does now then its a change from the original

It was a rumor from the PTR that has been proven to either have been false or did not carry over to live.

I’m fairly certain even engaging the first boss doesn’t lock you. But trash farm is done on the steps by the entrance. No one goes past that.

The rumor and/or bug from the PTR was that triggering traps or killing the trap giant caused a lock. It does not. All trash+giants up to Marrowgar can be safely cleared for rep.

Just wanted to share:

There are 2 ways to do the rep grind.

  1. two groups are split and stay by the guards at the stairs. You kill the endless mob spawns. It’s slightly slower than option 2. You need to out dps the guards. This is good for ungeared groups.

  2. you run the gauntlet and kill all the adds up until the boss. The down side is if you have a really good group, you need to wait until you can reset.
