Hi all,
I’ve levelled three characters 50 to 60 in Kul Tiras. Now I’ve made a brand new alt and at level 10, I am being directed to Kul Tiras again.
Would I be disadvantaged if I just stuck with my plan to level to 60 in Eastern Kingdoms and Outland? Or are those “old” quests giving lower XP and worse rewards than questing in Kul Tiras?
Thanks in advance
Chromie time makes it so you can level anywhere from 1-48 (or 50) and then do SL content from 50-60. Just select the timeline you want to level in and go where the quests take you. I wouldn’t suggest leveling in old content from 50-60 as it would probably take a long time to do so compared to SL content.
Chromie doesn’t offer places like Dun Moragh does he? It’s a shame as I have good memories of those places. Perhaps I will do it anyway as it’s fun.

Yes it does! It’s part of Cataclysm.
If you start a new character in Exile’s Reach and don’t use the skip dialog when you get to Stormwind/Org (it’s something along the lines of “I know my way around the city”) then you do have to do the BfA intro questline in order for other stuff to unlock properly. Once you’ve got the Come Sail Away/Welcome to Zandalar achievement and unlocked the portals in Boralus/Zuldazar, everything should be properly unlocked again.
If you use the dialog skip after Exiles reach, stuff also unlocks at that point and the BfA intro isn’t necessary.
Edit: I’ll also add that when you use Chromie Time, turning it on for any expansion will make all expansions scale to 50. So, you don’t have to quest in the one you picked and you can skip around if you like. The one you pick will determine which dungeons you see in dungeon finder. (And as Furytractor said, the old Vanilla stuff is under Cataclysm.) You can also change your Chromie Time expansion at any point before hitting 50.
Oh is that why I can’t talk ot Chromie now? I need to get that achievement?
Will using Chromie give more xp than just flying to Ironforge and doing Dun Moragh, Loch Modan, Wetalnds, Arathi?
Without Chromie, the expansions will only scale to their natural cap, so they’ll only be good for XP up to that level. The intro doesn’t take that long especially, if you esc out of the skippable cinematics. (Also, the only non-BfA option to get high enough to start Shadowlands is Legion, which I don’t think you can start if you need the BfA intro.)
Vanilla, BC, Wrath: 30
Cata (Vash’ir, Hyjal, Deepoholm, Uldum, Twilight Highlands), MoP: 35
WoD: 40
Legion: 45
BfA: 50

Sure, just exit the scenario, and then go talk to Chromie.
I find running out of Stormwind and getting the notice to exit the scene is the quickest way to go. As soon as you touch down outside of Stormwind, run toward Goldshire. A little box will pop up asking if you want to leave.
Then go talk to Chromie. Have fun leveling wherever you want.
Is that actually faster than running up to the quest NPC (that should be right in front of you) and picking the “I know my way around the city” dialog option to exit the tutorial?
