I actually found a guild to raid with for the first time since BfA, due to time and just how much I’m into the game right now.
DF has been a nice change of pace.

It is severely underestimated!
Highly under-rated comment right ^^^ here…
I’m surprised it doesn’t have like 100+ ‘likes’ lol
Damage to the game lore? How about damage to what was left of the playerbase/community??
I’m aware of multiple former WoW streamers I used to enjoy watching who quit WoW during Shadowlands and swapped to streaming other games full-time. Also, a number of former GD’ers/forum regulars I used to see posting on this board have never returned post-SL
The damage caused by SL is real in more ways than one. A bad/incoherent story is still trumped (in terms of it’s impact) by having large swathes of your playerbase/customers quitting and not returning
Id give it a 10 if it wasn’t so plagued with cheaters. Ruined PvP.
Be more imaginative.
i mean that’s your opinion i guess. it’s OKAY.
You’re right. We have only ourselves to blame. Back when it was just called trolling rather than toxic behavior too many of us “got used” to it. Even worse, more seemed to delight in it. Such environments can never last. I unfortunately was complicit in my complacency. I’m guilty of being one of the two types of bad people in the world. The first is those who do bad things. The second is those who see or hear others doing bad things and do nothing. I realized eventually that I was the second type because I don’t respond well to negativity. I simply shut down. So don’t misunderstand me when I discuss this topic. The WoW community is dead because it deserved to die. It was a cancer that ate itself alive. But I’ve learned more since then. The cancer didn’t die. The community in game is gone. But before it passed the cancer spread. That same environment is now festering in more private places also known as discord servers. That’s the thing about silence. Silence can trick you deceive you. Make you think things are better when they aren’t. The people who play this game are a reflection of humanity in general. And humanity is a mix of good and absolutely vile. We just don’t see it so much as we used to in game anymore. And while that may make many feel better that they don’t have to see it, rest assured it is not gone. It found a new host. It always does. It always will. Many can find peace in the deceit of silence. I did that for too long. I find the silence unsettling now.
I have enjoyed it so far, even though SL really lowered the bar Blizz had to clear to make something good (IMO). I was not thrilled with the new flying but have figured it out in my own way and I think I’m decent at it .Still cannot do the slingshot races and don’t care either.
One thing that is different is that for me at least, the game has much less toxic that it was in the past, especially in SL. There might be enough to keep most people pacified and occupied with content they enjoy to be at each others throats. Of course, I could just be lucky where things have landed in what I do and who I end up with.
It only appears less toxic because it’s in fact so toxic they had to crack down so hard that now people don’t speak in channels. It all happens in discord now. But you can still see it. When even though mutual shared faction tagging is enabled you still see other players trying to kill things before you can tag. When you’re harpooning in a massive lunker and someone comes along and kills it so you can’t even loot it. And you tell them what they just did. And they laugh at you.
i like it.
it’s safe, it’s not too edgy, it’s everything we asked for.
Are you okay? Sincerely.
Some parts were good. Some parts I didn’t like.
Thus is the norm for most WoW expansions.
Did not know things had gone to Discord. I don’t use it so out of my backyard I guess. As far as t he lurker bit, and need to burn things down and kill them before a tag go, I can relate, 100%. That kind of stuff has pretty much been part of the WoW package since the first time we broke the seal on the box for Vanilla.
Sincerely I’m ok. Sincerely I’m also capable of self reflection even when it doesn’t make me look good. How do you learn from your mistakes if you can’t even admit them? I’m good. I read your reply though and it moved me for some reason. I guess because I’m just a person. I know, on the forums, sincerity is alarming. But even that by itself is a ![]()

The sense of community in WoW is very different these days than it used to be.
Back then, the community was all about in-game chat channels, guild chats, and the forums.
Now the community is in discord servers and voice channels. People play together in-game but most of the communication occurs outside of the game itself.
Since 2006, this is the least played expansion for me.
Just came back after 10 months, only for Season of Discovery. Even Shadowlands had more to offer, yet that was a nightmare too.
If you like hamburgers without flavour and with a rotten meat, Dragonflight is your thing.
I can’t think of anything bad, but can’t say it’s overall ‘great’. Story is very forgettable, it might have actually peaked with Raszageth.
If anything was unarguably good it’s probably the mythic plus rotation that uses older dungeons and the crafting system.
Yes i enjoy it, very good expansion
I think it just lack of a better theme and antagonists, but im not a very lore-focused player, the freedom we have is good, easy to gear, fun activities, massive rerolling
honestly you can say anything you want about DF, they are your thoughts but I must say something about DF myself, it gives me serious WoD vibes, not a good expansion to be compared to
DF has problems, but it has good things too. I don’t think it’s a good expansion but I believe it has some really good bones to build from that can make a good expansion when they carry it forward. I think what we are experiencing is they are remaking some things and that results in a somewhat rough product, but given more meat being added to the bones over time what we have today will be contributing to something pretty great.
Crafting Talent & Equipment: This is rough but overall I do like that there is more being added to crafting.
Dynamic Flight: Probably the best thing being added to dragon flight. It will be nice to fly again on day one of expansions and this method of flying is superior to our older version.
Updated Map Symbols: It’s much easier to tell what your harvesting now that everything isn’t just little dots.
Return of the Talent System: Leveling actually feels like it matters again. It’s more interactive and less boring.
Evergreen Systems: Nothing is screaming to me that we will have to give this all up in the next expansion.
