I plan on only doing M+ this expansion (maybe some raiding for tier sets, trinkets, etc.) and I have a question. Are there any things that I have to farm until M+ opens on Sep 17 that will make my character significantly stronger? For example, in Shadowlands you had to farm Thorghast for legendaries. In Dragonflight you had to farm raids to get Incandescent Essence. Are there any things like that in TWW?

According to other topics in this forum, you will need to do every Mythic0 dungeon every day next week or fall behind. Not sure how much truth there is to that though.

Well I suppose you could try getting your ilvl up, but that’s less of a requirement if you just host your own keys. If you intend to apply to keys though, yes it will help a lot to have the highest ilvl you can.
Are you pugging?
Assuming you are tanking, you are fine. Just get to a high enough ilvl and you are fine, good enough is good enough.
Assuming you are DPS, you probably want as high an ilvl as you can get to separate yourself from the writhing mass of DPS players.
…And then wait a month or two while they tune the m+ dungeons.
yeah Im not worried about getting into groups or anything like that. It’s just I didn’t know anything about Incandescent Essence in Dragonflight until I saw everyone having it half way through the season . So I just don’t want to miss out on any major legendaries/enchants that I can farm right now lol
So far there is no maintenance stuff outside from needing gold for consumables to do end game content.
No lego’s that I am aware of either.
TBH, I’d prefer they just not do any legendaries. Or make it class specific. Everyone gets a legendary means everyone needs a legendary, and the grind that comes with it.
This was only for S3, and I’m pretty sure the +10s were timed before most players had completed the head enchant. It was by no means necessary for timing keys.
What’s your item level? You probably want some M0 gear before jumping into M+ but as others have said, if you have friends who won’t judge your performance on your armory before ever stepping into the dungeon like PUGs will, you can probably jump right in from current H gear – albeit it’ll be a rough time depending on what the key level is.
