So I’m playing as an Elemental shaman now, and I have a sword and shield as my weapons. But I noticed that as soon as I start casting i put my weapons up and if I stop casting i continue to stand there and get hit without fighting back. Is there a weapon that I can continue to hold while casting to avoid this?

I think only the legion artifact let you cast some spells with weapon out.
Yes that is true, only with Legion artifact skins can you do this. I believe you only needed to have the fist and could change the shield to have the weapon out… but with how they brought artifact skins into BFA you need to have the Fist Weapon and the Shield transmogged or neither.
If you really like one of the available Legion artifact weapon skins, this is the only current way to have your weapon out.
Okay, that’s what I figured. I’ll keep my sword and shield for now so at least I get the extra armor from The Shield. At least until I find a staff that has great stats with it, unless anyone has better advice
