Can I get a quick rundown on how party sync is supposed to work?

I get that it scales your level down, but I thought it put both players on the same quests as well?
I am max level, my wife has just hit 120. We are not even close to having the same quests, but when we party sync and I try to quest with her to catch her up, she keeps phasing out like we aren’t on the same questline. She has stuff in her log that I don’t see.
Am I mistaken? It’s really frustrating, because honestly not trying to be insulting she’s pretty bad at the game and generally doesn’t enjoy the game when playing alone. She liked the game when I am there to help, but gets frustrated quickly. When I am phased out and shes stuck alone getting beat up, our gaming session usually comes to a halt. Was hoping party sync was the solution, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

While questing in Party Sync, you may see quests you’ve already done before—those are Replay Quests! Accept them as normal and quest together, but remember that Replay Quests are temporary and go away when the Party Sync ends. Additionally, some quests can become deactivated if your group no longer meets the requirements. Quests that can’t be replayed won’t display an icon, while a grayed-out icon indicates quests that your party sync group does not qualify for that are in your log. You can’t complete these quests until you leave Party Sync. To do so, click Stop Party Sync at the bottom of the Map & Quest Log.

Alright, so it’s just not working the way it’s supposed to then. That explains the phasing issue, although the answer isn’t what I wanted to see.
Thanks for the link.

It works the way it’s supposed to. But it’s not going to work with phased major storyline quests that she’s in the middle of.

I don’t think phasing works with party sync. But it also really depends on who starts the sync.

In all, Chain quests don’t work in party sync (that includes phasing), you have to do step 1 before you can join your friend on step 2. Imo, working as intended.

There are some quests, party sync or not, that have phases that dont allow groups.

I lvled my alliance character with my friend and we ran into tons of phases content that despite being the same quest, level, and progression point we were forced into solo phases.

So this may not be a party sync issue, it’s a quest design issue.
