First time I ever have been able to enchant my gear through engineering and I’m pumped. Can I enchant my alts gear too or do I have to do engineering as a profession for them?
You can provide tinkers to non-Engineers as long as they have tinker slots to put them in. I believe the only way for that is if they use the Engineer-made bracers, as the helms require Engineering to wear. Tinkers are more like JC than Enchanting, you can’t just put them on anything, it has to be gear ready to accept it.

Ah right, my fault - I assumed you were talking about current (Dragonflight) tier Engineering. It is unfortunate they re-used the name for essentially differently functioning items.
Wrath and Cataclysm-tier tinkers are indeed able to go in many more slots (gloves, belts and cloaks) than the DF ones but in that case, are only usable by Engineers.
