I made my Rank 14 Grind 15 years ago as a student in high school. Did well in school, no issues.
Here’s the key thing though. You can’t do it yourself. You need to have a dedicated team, ready to spend every hour you’re not at school along side you grinding those BGs, and winning them back to back to back to back to back.
If you have that crew? Yea, go nuts. Being a student in highschool is a joke. If anyone has the time for something like this, its you.
It may also not be, if you are getting quality sleep. I’m not recommending it, and you would know your body better than anyone else, as you’re the one who deals with it, so your call.
I’d be curious as to just what about the grind for rank 14 you are interested in.
Instead of going for Rank 14, go for some gains in the gym or get some honors.
Something useful.
i knew two people doing GM grind back in vanilla in 2006
one had a whole guild that was T2.5 to t3 geared backing him ending AB in 7 min or less and dodging other premades while doing it, he still had to grind about 16 hours a day while he rotates people out from his guild.
the other account share and runs 24/7 and the account sharer had to be good and efficient at farming kills too
i think they did this for 3 weeks from the jump from rank 12 to rank 13 and another 3 from 13 to 14
honestly it is easier to just get T2.5 gear from AQ
/agreed.
Don’t let the priority of real life get in the way of that sweet sweet off-hand. Especially if you’re in the US. Book learn’n just gets in the way.
Weapons are “easier” to obtain but you have to raid for em. The best weapon you can probably get if you are not much of a raider is Bonereavers edge, as its pretty much on par with the r14 sword if the proc happens.
But there is the ony sword, maybe even ashkandi if you are up for BWL. If you are limited on time and can “only” do r13 weapons are out there, as r13-r14 is really a hard grind too.
I did the rank 13 grind back in vanilla, it was on my druid so rank 14 would have been kind of worthless for me. It wasn’t worth it, ended up failing a few classes in college because I had to spend every waking hour in BGs. This was with my guild which was clearing AQ40 at the time so we were top on the server and were by far the best geared group. We rotated who got rank 14 and even then the grid was just insane. I couldn’t even imagine trying to do it without being able to win every game by being in the best group.
Let’s be real, school is pretty important. The easy solution to this problem is don’t sleep. Wow classic is much more important than sleep.
I was on Dalaran PvE, one of the oldest and largest servers. It was also Alliance dominated, so there were very long BG queues (45m-1h 15m WSG, and 1h 30m AB queues).
I went to Rank 10 while being a full-time student, full-time progression raider, and doing everything wrong for actually accumulating honor (which I learned much later in the expansion). Mind you, I still had to farm my repairs, enchants, consumables, and twinks.
If you were alliance, we could of train together like this.
