I have a lot of armor that is for appearances only. Can I delete them and still have the option to use them from the transmogrifier?
Yes.

Transmogs are forever once the item is soulbound, you can delete them.
Sweet. Thanks to the both of you.
I’d also suggest vendoring them to get some gold, instead of just deleting them.
The answer is yes unless they are white or grey items. You can’t mog those.
Fair warning, one of the changes in 9.1.5 is that you have to equip items to get their appearances.
That’s going to cause so many threads…
I’m old school. I always equip it before selling to the vendor.
Definitely in agreement with Duff that this is going to ignite a flurry of complaint threads when folks need to visit ye ole recover items site a few times a day…
This is good info to know. Thanks!
Once you aquire a mog it goes in collection tab shift + p .
why would they do that when originally it was that way and then they made it easier that you didn’t.
I had a green or blue white bone looking bow.
I equipped it and looked nice then a better higher ilvl bow dropped
So I vendor sold the old white bone. Thinking same logic I could mog my new bow as the old bow… nope…
Now I am sad
It bothers me that no one specified it has to be your armor type to gain the appearance. I know we all know it, but put it in writing to calm me down, thanks.
This change makes no sense to me. There are going to be so many tickets…
Right? It’s so backwards!
That’s not new.
I haven’t been equipping a lot of my transmog and it gets added. It only doesn’t get added automatically if it is BoE in fact.
From quests, maybe. But I have stuff for my class, in my bags that I don’t yet have the appearance for. So some of it needs to still be equipped.
Well, I wish I knew all of this before I deleted a bunch that I got from Torghast yesterday after I got told it would be fine
No it doesn’t. If it’s soul bound it’s transmoggable.
And GM tickets
