Can we have something maybe passive for havoc to be able to suck in soul shards from far away like vengeance gets? It’s really frustrating not being able to grab all the purple shards that pop out. I think most demon hunter players probably have OCD about it like me and want to get every shard. They should auto suck up or have some ability that sucks them all up. It’s kind of like like loot lol many like looting everything even if they don’t need to.
The pickup range is already pretty reasonable. Any that spawn during your dps rotation should be auto consumed anyways in raids.
Well I have talked to many players and they also hate it really bad. it doesn’t spawn anywhere near you and you have to step somewhere unsafe or get yourself killed to collect them. It really ruins the spec for many of us. We end up playing venge even though we like havoc just because it has consume powers that suck them in. Most of us don’t want to leave even a single one. Every soul shard should be absorbed or there is no point. Hopefully Microsoft fixes it. Demon hunter has taken massive power hits the past few patches and expacs. They could give them something. It’s a bit masochistic to want everything difficult all the time. Not everyone shares that personality type. If you want it to be that difficult just take your gear off and play with 0 ilvl. The rest of us want to enjoy our game.
I definitely remember the soul shards spawning much closer in Legion.
they were closer in bfa also. But I don’t think it’s too much to ask for something like immolation aura or blade dance to auto suck up shards within 25 yards like soul barrier or spirit bomb does for venge. They removed leech in bfa from havoc and nerf’d blurr and nerf’d chaos dmg and nerfd rain from above. some kind of help is a bit overdue. Arms got a good return to glory in SL. Would be nice to see dh get some love.
With the exception of demon souls, soul shards only provide healing to a Havoc Demon Hunter. There is a first row talent to gain Fury from picking up a soul, however with no way to spawn a soul during combat, it has little or no value.

I actually asked for this when demon hunters first came out. 95% of the time, it’s not necessary. However, I’ve definitely been in situations where I was rooted and COULDN’T collect soul fragments or there was so much going on that I didn’t even know one had spawned and I did not want to move because of the spacing requirements of the raid, etc.
So it would be a nice quality of life to have an ability that actually lists the number of soul fragments are out there. I’m sure there’s a mod that does that, but I’d still prefer something baked into the spec.
It’s more then just a use case. It’s a consumable. Everyone wants to consume them. They could be zero bonus, we still want to pick them up. 90% of loot has almost no value but almost everyone still loots every npc. It doesn’t feel good to leave things behind, We want to collect everything. It feels hateful even at times not to be able to get some. It’s a negative to the player experience which is the last thing any game should want.
Not all at once. I enjoy being able to use them on an as needed basis.
It’s a health pot more or less. You’re not going to waste your consumable at 95% health are you?
So collect them. It’s not like spawn that far away, and they have a large “pull-in” radius.
Tanks are all about mob positioning. Makes sense for Veng to have an ability to pull them in. DPS is about moving around and avoiding situations. Makes sense for you to move to them and chase them down.
