can gold still be made in dragonflight
dont have war within yet
Probably not a lot. But a decent amount if you farm it. There might be others in the same boat that need rares or other items you could sell on the AH.
Gold can be made at level 70, but not necessarily only in Dragonflight.
The two best ways of making gold in the game, always, are
- Playing the Auction House
- Boosting
Playing the Auction House takes knowledge and skill. Like playing the stock market, your investments can go down as well as up. Basically, you buy things on the AH and re-sell them for a higher price. To be successful in this, you need to have a good sense for what is underpriced and what will sell, and you need to spend a lot of time at the AH scanning for bargains. If you are interested in this, you need to look up the addon TradeSkillMaster and what many, many, YouTubes on how to use it effectively.
Most people will fail at playing the AH. They just don’t have the interest or aptitude to read themselves into the mindset.
Boosting is obviously out for a level 70.
Crafting will work at max level at the start of a new patch, if you have put all the work into levelling your crafting professions, but again that is out for a level 70.
And so you are left with farming. Farming is what you would have to do first, even if you wanted to play the AH, since playing the AH needs starting gold to buy stock.
Your two branches for farming are:
a) Items. This is mostly about farming items from old dungeons and raids, and sometimes rares, that you can sell on the AH, mostly for transmog - also pets and mounts. The problem with these items is that they don’t sell fast. So to keep up a good income, you need to have hundreds of them listed ontha AH, and you need to manage that. Stuben Albatroz on YouTube is a great exponent of this method. I can’t quite believe him - he happily runs theough Uldaman or Razorfen Kraal 100 times to collect the valuable but rare drops, and seems to actually enjoy that. I couldn’t do it, but for sure he makes a lot of gold.
b) Gathering. Herbs, Ore, Leather, Fish. Herbs are probably not great for a level 70, since there isn’t much use for lower-level herbs, but ore - like Ghost Iron, Fel Iron, Adamantite - and leather keep their value better because they are used in the making of items that are still used for mounts or transmog. It isn’t going to make you a fortune, and is unlikely to fully pay for WoW Tokens unless you 24/7 it, but it will keep you in pocket money when you have levelled up your gathering professions. You will have to sit on the AH a bit because of constant undercuts, but unlike playing the AH, it’s not too bad.
