Wondering if it’s possible and if it would be worth using Shadowflame Prism with mindbender
Dont have a 60 on beta but as far as im aware yes some shadow leggos can be used by disc

I just got a beta invite yesterday and haven’t played disc at all, but I made a 60 premade priest earlier today to try holy, so I logged in and went to the runecarver to test it.
It doesn’t show Shadowflame Prism as a crafting option on the NPC for holy or disc, only as shadow, but if you craft it as shadow and respec to disc, the tooltip value for the cooldown of fiend/mindbender does go down while it’s equipped and it doesn’t say shadow only or anything like that on the item.

Interesting! Does the Rabid shadows conduit increase mindbender damage when in disc or does it get deactivated?
The conduit system seems really buggy so not sure I can test it accurately. Earlier I had a conduit path all lit up and seemingly working, but then logging in later half of them were dark and said “you’ve chosen a different path” and just stopped working. Usually that’s what it says under the nodes in the other paths you didn’t take and then the one you did is lit up, but even the path you picked goes dark and then for me randomly a few nodes at the very bottom of the tree were still lit up even though the entire path above it had gone dark and stopped working.
Someone else made a thread about it so it may be a common problem in beta currently or maybe it’s just with certain covenants or something.
In the conduit UI it does actually specifically say shadow under the conduit, but I can’t test to see if it works while in Disc atm.

I saw a comment in the beta forums on how to fix the conduits when they bug out so I tested the conduit.
As disc, my mindbender did 432 damage per hit with the conduit in and 392 damage per hit without, so it appears to work for disc also.
edit: and with the legendary combined it shows a seperate tick for the legendaries damage. With the legendary and conduit the legendary portion ticked for 86-87 damage and 78-79 without so the conduit also buffs the legendary proc damage.

Legendary works, but the fire damage doesnt trigger atonement.

Oh geez, its gonna be this expansions ‘Death Throes’, where Disc can benefit from it, but you have to spec/create it for Shadow first before hand.
After the nerf to the shadowfiend legendary I doubt it will be the go to. Cauterizing shadows is still kind of okay but the Rapture legendary and the Kiss of Death are the big ones for disc with current balancing.
Pretty sure every leggo can be used by every spec because every spell associated with the leggo is baseline. Blizzard been tryin to bring it back to class identity over spec identity after all.
It’s weird, Disc’s best Legendaries are designed for Shadow. In BfA Our best Azerite trait was a Shadow trait, it’s almost as if very little effort is put in to our class design…
but nooooo, that can’t be right, I mean look at Shadow… it only took 2.5 years. I have total faith that they’ll get things fixed in 2 months…
