Can DF season 1 raid weapons still be acquired outside of raid drops?

A wowhead page on the outdated season 1 raid weapon I’m after (neltharax, enemy of the sky, for transmog) shows (when season 1 was current) that it and some other season 1 weapons and armor could drop from the great vault, and “cache of vault treasures” chest (apparently a reward for timewalking or for dungeon event).

However, now in season 3, it appears that the great vault season 1 loot and that particular chest are no longer available.

Apart from neltharax (heroic blue version), i had also wanted the heroic vault of incarnates stormwing harrier set ever since launch for transmog, and never had any luck with drops, but just recently someone informed me of a way to acquire season 1 raid armor transmogs which is still currently available.

By purchasing season 1 elemental storm gear from mythressa and then upgrading it and then taking it to the revival catalyst console which converts it into the vault of incarnates raid set drops (even though item level outdated, transmog unlocked) which allows you to circumvent the issue of hoping for season 1 VOI armor set mogs while there are virtually no VOI groups anymore since everyone only runs amirdrassil now.

So, I’m just wondering, since there is still a way to acquire season 1 raid armor sets without needing to find almost non existent VOI raid groups today, is there still a alternative way to acquire season 1 raid weapons like neltharax even though the great vault doesn’t doesn’t appear to grant season 1 loot anymore and the “cache of vault treasures” chest no longer appears to be available?

with fated raids coming in S4 VOTI will be in rotation and some weeks you will have groups running it and have a chance at it then

It’s possible that they could put Nel’tharax on a vendor much like they did with other weapons during SL’s fated season. Gavel of the First Arbiter was a very sought after item, and they tossed it on there. I would be surprised though if Nel’tharax showed up specifically, but time will tell.

I am still running with (or putting together) the extremely few and far between VOI groups whenever they do appear, just no luck at drops.

If the fated raids (unsure of what those are) means more people will be running VOI (hopefully includes heroic version) and i will have more chances, then I’ll definitely do as much of that as possible.

Although i am really hoping a alternative way to acquire it becomes available again, since a alternative way existed before but apparently was phased out when great vault season changed and cache of vault treasures was removed.

each week one of the DF raids will be fated dropping S4 ilvl versions of the gear and each week it rotates to a new one raid, closer to the war within all raids become fated ( this happened in SL). theres affixes like in M+ also. https:// www.icy-veins .com/wow/fated-raids-shadowlands-season-4

this is for shadowlands but explains it all , the affixes will most likely be different for DF

Read that page you mentioned and Glad to know that the fated raids have some sort of token system (in SL it apparently was the cartel dinar, and then cyphers if you wanted heroic or mythic versions) so even if i wasn’t lucky enough to get fated bow drop from Raz, if i can manage to get the token and upgrade that would be a second means of obtaining it. Thanks for the information.

I had not tried raiding outside of LFR until DF because VOI was the first time a raid had mogs i wanted badly enough to go through the struggle of endgame gear progression grinding, so i suppose that’s why i never looked into what fated raids were all about in SL.

The page you mentioned didn’t mention whether or not fated raids still include a 1 week lockout or if you can run it as many tomes as you’d like while it’s available. If fated raids don’t have the 1 week lockout then I’d feel a lot more comfortable about my chances lol.

it’s the same lockout system, you can run it over and over but ony get loot once. on weeks where VOTI isnt fated tho you can still run that raid at the Season 1 ilvl rate for chance for the S1 versions
