Can BM get some new animations?

I think hunter in general lacks fun or interesting animations on their spell, but I think BM is the worst of them. Besides turning red during BW, every other spell feels really boring visually and even sound-wise. Can we get some updates to certain shots being just a little flashier? I get it won’t be like an ele shaman chucking lava and lightning everywhere, but can we at least get some flashier shots? Many, many other MMO’s these days have that and I think it’s time WoW catches up.

I’m a big fan of not getting eye cancer from looking at my character and also being able to see mechanics clearly, so I think i’ll pass. (Esp in a non 2.5 sec gcd world)

Bit of an exaggeration there. WoW has a lot of flashy animations on several classes and hunter could at least use a few updates on their spells. Something like shooting out more arrows, characters spinning or taking a knee, etc. There’s a ton they could do and it still wouldn’t be as flashy as a warlock or ele sham. Runescape almost has better bow-shooting animations at this point.

I wish bow/gun animations were better. Looking at Archer/Bard in FFXIV they sometime crouch low sometimes jump in the air etc. It’s more interesting to look at than what we have.

Bard animations for hunter but not the particle effects. Except for major cooldowns maybe (Bestial Wrath is so boring)

Why do you hate knee caps so much ?

Also, most of those animations don’t make a lot of sense on a ranger anyway. What do you get from spinning / jumping / etc ?

It makes the spells feel more fun and energetic. A warlock could just shoot a shadow bolt for every spell, but there’s a reason chaos bolt, hand of gul’dan and incinerate have a cool animation… people like using their spells more when they feel cooler. By the hunter taking a knee in MM in fits that marksman sniper, by doing a spinning shot it just makes the spell feel unique, albeit a bit extra. Why do they ever update spell animations if not to improve the aesthetic appeal of them?

None of those spinning crouching etc spells would look good on the move.

I feel like this is true for across all 3 specs tbh. Barbed shot is the most glaring one but kill command’s animation doesn’t feel very cool to use either. If barbed shot actually looked like, say idk, a BARBED - SHOT rather than a yellow mini laser beam, that would be very cool. Also for MM kill shot and aimed shot have the exact same animation, I feel like that is pretty lame IMO. And of course, survivals two dps cooldowns, coordinated assault, and spearhead have classic-era animations which feel horrible to use.

The beast cleave animation makes my eyes bleed as a melee lol.

Do you have no soul?!! jk lol. No but really though, the Bard in FFXIV has some amazing animations and looks good while moving too. So it would just look cool is all. lol

Cobra Shot and Barbed Shot are such lame abilities to use, thats the biggest reason i play MM over BM atm.

I disagree. There isn’t a single class on ff that looks good while moving. Sinply because all classes are animation locked (they use the exact same animation while moving inuding their legs, so they just slide on the groud)

So you want your toons to be plain as plain yogurt.

I want my toon to be like a regular skyr, with a few ingredients but solid, rather than a 50 ingredient microplastic hyper nightmare of soy yogurt imitation.

Honestly I’d just like a glyph for cobra shot to change its appearance to maybe one of marksman shots animations, not a fan of the snake flying out of my bow

OMG FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT! I thought I was the only one who didn’t like that animation! I love the arcane shot animation but of course that is a MM shot not a BM ability (well a main ability because BM can use it but it’s not worth using) anymore. I would love for them to like maybe use the Arcane Shot animation but change it to like green or something. I’m no game dev and I have no idea how hard that would actually be to manufacture in game. BUT I would feel like it would be easier than giving a BRAND NEW animation. I don’t know I’m just spit balling here but yes I agree with you Alstandor.

One thing I have wanted to see since the day I started playing SL BM hunter was more pet centric abilities. Give the Hunter more spells like Kill Command for different abilities. I think one thing that could help BM better distinguish itself would be to give them spells that feel like they are pet spells but come from character resources instead of pet resources. We are a beast master so why wouldn’t we be able to teach our pet some more fantastic abilities like what we see from beasts when we fight them.
