Can Blizz Increase the Weekly Conquest Cap from 500 to 900

So assumingly on Tuesday, Season 3 will start and players will once again have a weekly 500 Conquest Cap that they can achieve.

This cap however, feels incredibly low and very unrewarding for weeks at a time.

A good majority of players will prioritize saving for their weapons in the first few weeks, which means that for 4 weeks-- 4 Weeks– players will not see an item upgrade outside of their vault rewards.

Now that scaling has been introduced into the PvP Scene, the vault should be see as a “bonus” and not a path of gear progression.

Removing the Vault Rewards from the equation, this is the break down of a new patch.

It is not until Week 4, of a new patch, that the average player will see an Epic upgrade.

It will take just over 22 weeks for this player to get their base items. This does not include off spec gear, multiple trinkets, or 2nd weapons for Fury Warriors

If Blizzard was to increase the weekly cap from 500 to 900, the average player (again, not including vaults) would see an item every week and take just over 12 weeks to get their base set.

Now, I understand the vault is a big aspect of the game. It encourages players to play rated games and increase that gear income.

However, the vault should be seen as like I got good RNG 4 times from the vault, so it’s only going to take me 8 weeks to gear instead of 12.

It should not be: I got good RNG from the vault, so it’s only going to take me 16 weeks to gear instead of 22.

The first week is 1000 conquest points i believe. May be wrong on specific number but first week is definitely more then the standard 500.

With a lego and tier sets this patch you can remove 5 pieces you need to buy from the vendor.

I still agree a larger conq cap would be awesome though.

That is true, the Lego will remove 1-2 slots to purchase from the PvP vendor, which will help greatly.

But you will still more than likely need to buy the base item for your tier, as the ones you get from the raid rarely have Versa stats on them.

(I believe you can apply your tier bonus to an pvp/mythic+ item via the new Zereth Mortis system)

First week I believe is 800 or 900.

I may be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that the stats will change to whatever the tier set is suppose to have on them. If the pvp piece is haste/vers and the tier piece for that slot is crit/mastery then after the conversion to a tier piece then it’ll have crit/mast.

Hopefully I’m wrong but I thought I read that somewhere.

Tier set stats are static. So they will be whatever the tier set has and will change the stats of the piece you are converting unfortunately.

Yeah, I’m not 100% sure how that new system works, but I assume you will still need a base item to covert into the tier, which would still need to be purhcased.

And while Legedaries help reduce the overall gear slots players need to purchase, there still is a case to be made about having different legendaries for different covenants and comps, etc…

My Holy Paladin uses Shock Barrier pants as Kyrian, and WoG Shoulders as necro. Eventually I’ll need to get a pair of pants and shoulders so that if I ever swap I’ll have an item to replace it with.

=/

When you apply the tier effect to a PvP/m+ piece it changes the stats to the raid equivalent. In other words it does not snapshot the stats of the base item you use to keep Vers on the item.

Ya you need a base item to convert it (say the pvp chest piece). But when they do they convert to whatever the tier set stats are. Which is kind of a bummer. Let players craft tier pieces with the stats they want…

Yep there is this. Mostly different specs but covenant swaps like you said will also play a factor.

If I want to start arena in a couple
months from now, is there a conquest catchup like in BFA?

So, all the weekly conquest caps are additive, so if say the first week has a 1,000 conquest cap, and the rest after are 500.

If you come back to the game and start playing PvP in 3 weeks, you’ll have a 2000 Conquest cap.

However, you will have missed out on any vault rewards, etc…

Now, this does devolve into a problem of its own, but say you do start late. You begin PvPing a month from now.

You cap 2000 conquest, buy your 2h Weapon, and are basically left with that being your only epic pvp item.

It hard favors vault rewards, and almost makes it feel like starting in 9.2.5 is better than starting late. (if at all) =/

This has been my complaint with sl gearing this whole time. There’s too much reliance on the silly vault for the first 2-3 months.

While it is true that item transformed into Tier set receives its PVE secondary stats, it would still keep the feature of scaling like + 13 ilvl in PVP. This means that if you want BiS PVP Tier set, you would still need to buy PVP Conquest items and transform them into tier set items. As a result, we get only 1-2 Conquest free items from legendaries, all other would still need to be bought to both get BiS PVP gear and BiS Tier set PVP gear.

Yes and no, the cap just increases every weak so you can get all the conquest everyone else does. As far as a catchup mechanic that makes you get it faster no. They haven’t done that since BfA for some reason.

i already finished my conq cap by rejecting this parasite of a content patch

Can’t wait to have my skull caved in by somebody with 4 piece tier and a duelist weapon on like week 3 or 4

At least they won’t have dual lego’s until week 5 :joy:
