Honestly, they should, games like DOTA 2 and Warframe have heavy community focused creations which help make the game a lot better. I know a lot of the best “transmog” in Warframe is actually from the community, I actually use a really cool cloak made by the community that looks far more epic than anything DE has made.

I’m willing to bet this game is implemented in C++, no game developer in 2004 would have been using COBOL.

A quick Google search confirms the core game is written in C++ with the UI written in LUA.
You do realize WOW is based on WARCRAFT 3 technology which started development in the 90s. Yes the art looks more advanced because it uses a more modern C++ language (this is where the term “state of the art” comes from), but the core game is developed in COBOL.
Addons/interface is using LUAU, but that’s external to the COBOL core.

im honestly more excited at d2 remaster than d4 as it is. hope the footage we saw was very early game with bad gear played by someone unskilled, cause it looked boring and slow -.-

It’s written in JavaScript. And the art is done with CSS. 
And the network code is in Visual Basic.

All wow is now is a game where the 12 people working on it , can only do so much copy pasting and nerfing .
Funny…yeah, nothing has changed since 1973. It’s still in COBOL…
That’s impossible, of course.
